Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you. Some of this game was simply bad luck. We already HAVE beaten Nashville with approximately this roster (minus Sammy, plus Franzen).

You know what? As this game ended, it came to mind that, of all the times in which I've flipped on the TV to catch a Wings game, almost NEVER have they come away with a bad loss. Don't take that for granted.

I think that the Central just isn't meant to be ours this season (especially since the Central may mean the President's Trophy).

i have to agree. Its kind of funny how everytime we have games in hand against so-so teams that will help us take over the central or get us closer, we always lose.

Ill be fine with the 4th seed. Especially if the 5th is Turco and his stars.

Can I make a pre-emptive request that people upset at the loss don't start a bunch of threads about who sucks are what all the Wings problems are?

If I'm not mistaken, he's a -3 at the moment. He was out there for five of Boston's six goals. For him, that's terrible. Not that I'm saying he's bad, just that he's had either an off day or an unlucky one.

Yeah, but he's on the ice for half the game. When the team plays bad, his numbers are going to be bad.

I just don't remember him making a bad play is all I was saying. I know one of the goals was a 2-1 because of the Dats turnover and Kronnik being out of position. Then another was that weird change up.

Same here. I guess the Wings were bound to lose in regulation at home eventually. Hadn't it been like 16 or 17 games?

Something like that. Eh, streaks like that are ultimately meaningless. Especially when they end up with all sorts of qualifiers.

The thing is my father in law is a big Sabres fan and I have been busting his balls because the sabres lost 3 games in a row. And I told him that the Wings were going to kick the s*** out of the Bruins. Because the Wings lost now i'm going to hear it. DAMN IT

Well, they're also missing 4 (5 with Bertuzzi) key players, one of whom is one of the best players in the NHL, and one of whom is replaced by Lilja. All told, I'd say they're doing ok.

2nd in the league ain't bad, man.

Eh, take comfort in the fact that being a Sabres fan makes him a dick anyway. Nothing he can do can take away the fact that, as a Wings fan, you are better thanhe is.

Well, I don't doubt that from the forty minutes I saw. They were winning at the end of twenty minutes I didn't see, but that doesn't necessarily reflect effort so...

Wings seem to always have trouble on these afternoon games, which is cause for concern given that playoff games will eventually be scheduled early. This loss seems to be the result of of injuries and a randomly-supplied poor effort (which is the bane of all teams).

We ought to just mooove right along here and not pay it too much mind, for serious.

It's just disheartening to see some of the defensive breakdowns though.

That's the way I see it. They'd want the Central if it didn't mean that it'll likely mean 1st in the West. That's not to say that they're deliberately losing games or anything like that, but it has to be a subconscious thing going on. Personally, I'd like the Wings to enter the postseason as something other than a #1 or #2 seed.

Doubtful. I daresay my hemoglobin count has long since elevated to compensate. By the way, oxygen volume does not change with altitude; only pressure does.
