Rice 42 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 (edited) Article I'm looking forward to it. It will be cool to see what he can do at this level. This makes the deal look even worse for the Hurricanes. Edited March 25, 2007 by ARice89
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 hahahah the Canes are so stupid for trading him away. Very bad decision IMO. It will be awesome to see him play though.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 One of the guys Carolina got in that trade, being Eric Belanger, isn't even with the team anymore. Just makes them look even worse. Looking forward to seeing Johnson play in the NHL. Let's see how he does.
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 Damn... even though I knew he would leave, I always hoped he would stay for one more year here. You could tell he was ready to leave. He was always 10x better than everyone he played... anyways, I will definitely look forward to this.

mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 he was never goign to play for carolina and they knew it. Sometimes trades are more behind the scenes then it seems I thought CAR traded Jack because he wouldn't leave school his freshmen year. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats the assumption I always had...... theman19 47 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 I thought CAR traded Jack because he wouldn't leave school his freshmen year. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats the assumption I always had...... he also rejected every contract the canes sent his way, including one this year saying "nope i'm going to finish school" and then magically now he wants to play. The media in raliegh said more than once that the impression they got from him was that he wasn't going to play for the canes.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 Johnson must hate the south. *shot* Though LA is in the south too. But it's a different enviornment all together. Who only knows.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Still, they didn't get anything for him. Exactly. Belanger is a third line center, whom they got rid of anyways. Tim Gleason has the potential to be a top defenseman, but hasn't shown it too much yet this season. What really got me was also throwing Oleg Tverdovsky into that trade. It was more or less a salary dump on the Hurricanse part, but with the lack of defenseman the they've had this season they surely could have used Tverdovsky to some aspect. CMatt89 63 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 Now, I'm a big State fan. But, how can anyone not like JMFJ. He's great. I would like him to be on my team anyday of the week.
superstarsingh 23 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 I imagine he wishes to be a Red Wing (obviously not going to happen). But yeah, this should be interesting. He will play his JJ game and he will be just fine at the NHL level.
Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 (edited) I'm not so sure that Red Berenson told him he could go.....He played like s*** during the CCHA championship game, and played worse Saturday vs. North Dakota. I didn't watch the north dakota game, but I did see the CCHA championship game. It seemed to me that he has been distracted lately and it showed in his play. He probably knew he was leaving. Either way, he was still better than most players even on his worst day. Edited March 26, 2007 by Wings_Rule_1010
Schneids_is_awesome 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 (edited) Kill Jack, Kill. Kill Jack Kill. Can't wait to see him even though I wish he would have stayed another year. Good luck Jack! Carolina is stupid for trading him. He's a dirty piece of s*** Haha, kill jack kill, I remember that. Michigan is sure gonna miss him. The thing with him is I wouldn't call him "dirty"--more like immature. Any time he took a shot at someone, it was because he was frustrated and did some pretty stupid things (if you are a MSU fan referring to that hit he got suspended for his fresh. yr). He matured a lot in the past year, so it will be interesting to see what he can do for the struggling Kings. He had been playing like a player counting down his days left in the CCHA, so no surprise that he left--but JMFJ will be just fine at the professional level.
