zetterbergfuturemvp 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 ozzie has been alright this year , but to say he's had a "great" year , thats just ridiculous , hes only played in 21 games and 13 of the 21 games he was in , the teams are out of the playoffs , osgood has played alright ....but great ? i think not
shadow47 1 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 (edited) Osgood has been fine this year, but you can't really justify calling it "a great year". He's hardly played, and most of his games have been against weak teams. A few great games does not a great year make. Zetter, took the words out of my mouth. By that standard, Dom has played only 30 real games of his 56 games, because in 26 games he faced non-playoff teams ? Are you kidding me or what ???

glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 This is starting to sound like the Brodeur discussion's all over again. The facts are that ozzie has been a solid backup to Dom this season, and we've had one of the strongest goaltender tandem's in the NHL. So good job Ozzie. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 It just freaks me out how some folks go out of their way to find reasons to not trust and support Dom and Ozzie, when they've both been great this season. They are ours and we ought to be on their side, not Brodeur's. Not right now for sure, we have a Cup to win!

theman19 47 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 i hate when little kids use this board,.... if ozzie didn't play huge against the preds we don't win the division and we play the sharks the first round,..
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 I think I'd call it mostly reliable. He played great against Nashville, I had no problem with him starting those games due to the way he played.
stevieisthebest 80 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 ozzie is one of my altime favorite wings players ever... he is soo humble despite being a back up for most of his career.. he is solid and i love his helmet
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Let's give Osgood some love here. It's been a shame he's been injured more often than not this season, but in spite of that, when he's been able to get in, he's done very well. You just got to admire a guy like him right now. In my opinion, I think he could be starting on a lot of teams right now and is still very capable of being a decent starter. A lot of guys want to constantly play and dgo for the big bucks. That's not alwys a bad thing obviously, but I think Osgood has made a lot of sacrafices the past two seasons, being in a place he wants to work/make a living in, as opposed to having a good shot at making more money somewhere else. Cheers to Ozzie! :beerbuddy:

He only played in a number of clutch games against Nashville, and when you don't play that much it is much harder then it looks to do. Look this topic isn't saying Ozzie is better then Hasek, or Ozzie should be a starter. It's just stating how he dealt with this year, and his strong play deserves some props.
