Well you got Slow and Old right, as you havent faced any real physical teams yet as the Ducks so far in this years playoffs. With knowing your blueline not having the physical aspect in it!............ you will deffinatley be seeing half your team slow due to the hard hitting and checking coming from us. I can see the headlines already, "Age caught up to Wings, due to young talent". If i see this headline on any news paper, or online article, i demand compensation reporters!.

Yeah, because Calgary was a bunch of nancies wearing tutus.

Obviously you havent met my good buddy Markov and everyone's favorite whipping boy turned idol Andreas "The Pain Train" a.k.a. Lilypads Liljia. These 2 will respond from the blue line if it starts gettin physical. No doubt.

Oh and some Ducks fans have said that our blue line is weak. Noone gets to thier respective conference finals with weak D, so drop it already. On top of that, the wings have some of the best backcheckers in the league. Even pavel has been fantastic back in his own zone. So we may have taken a hit on D with Schneids out, but everyone is picking up the slack.

The finnish flash is not to be underestimated, however. He has the wings number, and he will be running and gunning for us the whole series. Too bad we dont have Hatch to knock out a coupla his teeth (Olympics, anyone?)

Finally, scoring this post season has been wonderful for the wings. Every line is producing, and in different and critical times. Who would have guessed that the Mule would have won in OT vs. Calgary? Or Lang singlehandedly turning the series around? (Or even scoring on a breakaway?) How about Sammy sealing the deal? Seriously.... SAMMY!? He was the flavor of the month for beat downs and verbal carnage here on the boards. The wings have what it takes, and should not underestimate a team with fantastic D, great goal scorers, and a goalie that has what it takes to get through most of the playoffs on different occassions.

Its a grind, and the Wings have played extremely difficult teams the past 2 series. Hopefully we can capitalize on the fact that the Ducks have been sitting and have not played as many games (and may not, therefore, be as fresh).

LETS GO RED WINGS!

 The Ducks? Physical? They're a pansy team. And what about the Flames? They are a physical team and the Wings still beat them. And I don't think being more physical will win games, but having more skill, talent, and experiance will. :sly:

Well I just got off the phone with my bookmaker and got done laying 10G's on The Duck at +110 in the series.

If i win, I'm going to upgrade my '91 Toyota Celica into something a bit fresher. If I lose, well, I may have to ditch the apartment, hit up the relatives for money, and trade in the Celica for one of those 1970s Winnebagos and go back to squatting out in the high desert. So GO DUCK!

After viewing this thread, it certainly appears that many of you spend to much time listening to ignorant Calgary/San Jose fans talk up their team....Calgary was garbage, and they pushed the WING to the brink of elimination. The Shark, while a decent team, was one terrible third period choke job away from putting the proverbial razorblades to yout wrists... The Duck, on the other hand, is well documented as facing the hottest team in hockey with the regular season's best netminder, and putting them down like a stray pit bull with rabies. Than they took the next great superstar goaltender who had already stolen a series in Dallas and put his French Canadian Bout securely on le bench in game one, before cleaning up the series quicker than an American MP patrol during a friendly fire investigation. Most people are pointing to Vanloser's powerplay inaffectiveness as being the reason they lost, but no one is tossing out the fact that it was the DUCK and their superior penalty kill that put them there. Where was the Sedin twins and their vicious down low cycle plays?

Get ready for the eastern european line of Pahlsson(Swedish)-Moenov(Russian)-Niedermaier(Polish) who is going to UTTERLY ERADICATE the effectiveness of the Zetterburg-Datsuck combo. I'm just curious whether Andres Lilja is going to deem himself a worthy fighting opponent of Moenov again like that regular season matchup. Godspeed.

I can only hope the Duck doesn't accumulate too much rust before beginning their SCF's matchup, so maybe it would serve them well to lose this first one in detroit on purpose. Maybe start Caron in net, or just withhold starting a goaltender and put George Killer O'Parros as a six attacker and just let him skate around taking out critical joints and handing out AARP cards to all the needy Red Wings.

Cordially yours,

The Booth

Wow. Anaheim fans are WAY too cocky for their own good.

Ummm hold up, genius. When did Calgary push the Wings to the brink? And since when where the Sharks a 'decent' team. HAHAHA that is hilarious. Honestly? I think I speak for most of us Wings fans when I say Sharks > Ducks. As far as talent goes, and who is the more scary good all around team.

I can totally see why San Jose fans can't stand the Ducks and their fans. Ignorance.

Yeah, you're not talking up you're team at all, either  Thanks for the unbiased opinion there, mate.

Now ive always liked the WIngs, and my favorite player was Steve Yzerman. Even wear his number when playing hockey and have the Red WIngs team signed jersey from 2002, but my Ducks will win this series I believe.

The absence of Schneider will cost the Wings dearly. I just cant see the WIngs beating the Ducks in this series.

The Ducks are ready and well prepared, and are on mission. Ive seen every Wings games this postseason, and the Ducks speed is going to catch the Wings offguard. The Red Wings blueline is considerably slow, with the exception of Lebda and maybe Lidstrom. In my opinion, and you guys may not agree, but I think that the long passes the Ducks make in this series from blueline to blueline will really hurt the Wings. The defensive positioning of the Wings defensemen I think will cost the Wings the series. If the Wings fall down early like they did in the first 5 games in the San Jose series, mark my words, they will not pull out the wins like they did against San Jose in games 2 and 4.

The Wings defense has serious weaknesses. Pahlsson is the most underrated player in the NHL, IMO.

And watch out for this player I mention to you guys. His name is Ryan Getzlaf. He wil be the difference maker in this series.

I'll be at the games here in Orange County

Predicting Ducks in 6.

However, as odd as this may sound to some of you, I wouldnt be surprised if the Ducks end up sweeping this series.

Good luck

Welcome to LGW Ducks2007!

I can understand your opinion on this series and I'm inclined to agree with you. Your top 4 dmen are the best collection in the league. J.S. "The Michilan Man" Giguere is playing very well and your top 2 lines are dynamite.

However, I think it's obvious that the Wings are showing a resiliancy nobody has seen since their Cup winning years. On paper the Ducks look better, but the same could have been said against the Flames and Sharks. And I firmly believe that Hasek is the best goalie left in the playoffs. He's stolen more than 1 game for us in each series and I believe he can do the same against the Ducks.

Another reason I believe that the Wings can beat you is that Detroit knows how to beat Giggy. He's very prone to high shots and the Wings have exposed him on that in recent regular season games.

The other factor is that the Ducks have played 2 relatively inexperienced and offensivly challenged teams in Minnesota and Vancouver. The Wings will bring defense that is just as good, if not better, with a lot more offense to boot.

In the end, I think this is going to be another great series that will go at least 6 games. I want to pick the Wings but considering that I picked the Flames and then the Sharks to win and was horribly wrong I don't want to jinx anything. Ducks in 6. (But in my heart I think the Wings will win in 5, very close games).

Have a good laugh than buddy. Hopefully it will last you throughout the entire offseason.

Duck in 4.

Well I apologize. To us Duck fans, any series that goes further than 4 or 5 games is "the brink."

Wow well perhaps you should correct your duck fans - they obviously must not know what the brink means, including you. Then again, what should I expect from the common bandwagoner. :P I mean how in the heck is a team leading 3-2 in the series on the brink? :P

I really miss the San Jose posters - at least they weren't trolls, and knew what "the brink" meant. I mean get with the program already! It's not that complicated!

a point that has to be brought up in this series is that the combined goaltenders height and weight in this series is

12'4 408lbs bryzgalov(6'3 208) giguere(6'1 200) while together hasek and osgood are only 11'11 336lbs

how are we going to overcome this fork in the road

I srsly LOL'd at that, great stuff.

This is one of the best threads ever I'd like to point out.

Man this is deja vu all over again. "Well, you might have gotten lucky with the Flames, but we got this dude named Thorton and he's gonna..."

Look, both the Wings and Ducks are great teams. Let's hope for a great and a safe series and leave it at that... Good luck, and drop the puck!

Wow. What an absolute load. You've got to love the thought of some lame fans in So-Cal watching the Wings Vs Sharks series, just wondering "Gosh, what website am I going to get to flame once this series is over?" Pathetic. This is the same drivel that the board has had to put up with from every team the Wings have played against.

These California fans just don't seem to get it: Wings in 6.

No offense but Calgary is much more Physical than the Ducks, hell, even the Sharks are slightly more physical than the Ducks. Oh, you guys haven't met the Pain Train or Big Bert have you?

The "we will win with physical play" has not worked so far in the playoffs, why would it start working now?

BTW

Its,

Just so we don't get too scared, he meant Minnesota.

Still here, still posting, and smiling at some of the duck fan droppings that are already being left in your forum. Surprised me, actually. I thought they'd be more like a lot of the fans on their boards than just some simpleton bandwagoning trolls and homers.

Boy, all that cockiness rolled up into one nasty little trolling ball. It has me smirking, that's for sure.

Oh, btw Booth, the name of your team is Ducks, not Duck. And don't thank me, I'm just here to help.

Can't see the Wings win?? I can't see how they lose!

Wings grind line vs Ducks first line. Wings win there.

Wings D vs. Ducks D. Wings D. Without one guy we are still strong and to say they are weak just shows the lack of hockey knowledge.

Goalies. Hasek is playing great even when he allows 1 or 2 goals because you get the feeling that if the Wings can score 3 goals they'll win.

I think the Wings win in 5.
