Hopefully this time Dom will accept the request to come back. But win or lose I fully expect him to re-retire again.

Precisely. If the Wings win the cup, IMO Dom will want to leave the game on top, the way most pro athletes do.

Yeah but what I mean is that he went out on top the last time and had the urge to make a comeback. Now he's much older if he finishes up after season's end. He won't be able to sit out a year and then make a comeback.So he'll probable play on as long as he's physically able too.

If Hasek comes back, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back as a backup goalie or maybe split goalie with another.....I doubt he will be the leading goalie next year. And if he signs, what about Osgood....I would hate to see him go .

I'm gonna have to agree on this one... I know I know I know... we do need to start investing in young players, but if Chris Chelios can be so old that he farts dust but still kicks ass, let him play as long as his heart desires. Just keep the Bayer Aspirin coming

Whenver people talk about why Detroit needs to get rid of Chelios, the argument is always that "he's old." Thats it. As if age is the be all and end all of a hockey players talent. To be honest, if you looked at every other team in the league and plucked out their 6th defenseman, Chelios would be the cream of the crop. Old or not, hes still the best 6th defenseman a team could have, and at a bang for your buck at that.

Hasek: I can see him coming back if we don't go all the way. That said, Cup = Retirement, IMO.

I have always been a Dom fan. Even when he was with Buffalo and Ottawa I enjoyed watching him play. I would be really sad if I he would retire. Even though watching him can be scary at times .
