McGratton might play

McGratton stays positive

Here's to hoping(it's at the end)

TOUGH GUY: The Ducks out-muscled and out-hit Ottawa in the first two games at Anaheim but the Sens still have one more option if they want to add some toughness to their lineup.

Enforcer Brian McGrattan has yet to see the ice in the post-season. Coach Bryan Murray isn't ruling out the possibility of dressing him in this series.

"There's a scenario where that could happen," Murray said.

McGrattan, a six-foot-four 231-pound forward, had two assists and 100 penalty minutes in 45 regular season games.

Could the man get some love? it'd be his first playoff game ever if they dress him.

Woo! I'd love to see McGrattan play. One of my favorite fighters in the league.

Murray needs to give him a chance. Chris Neil is really the only other guy on Ottawa that can handle the Ducks with their physical play. McGrattan would be a welcome addition on the Sens lineup.

Haha! Right!

And his 2,4, or 5 minutes in the box.

strangely, and I hope I'm not coming down with something, if he only plays in one game I'd like him to get 2-3min and no penalties.

If he gets two games though...

Wow, that would be pretty crazy. Because unless there is a goal awarded for ass beatings, I can't see a reason why they would possibly start him. I mean he's not a full on goon. But he's close. I imagine the Sens wanna shake it up a little bit, but come on. This is just a bad idea. McGrattan will be a total liability out there. Hopefully the Sens make the right decision here.

Well, your not coming down with anything as far as I can tell..but you would have to almost assume that if they threw him into the lineup, it wouldn't be to play 2-3 minutes with no penalties. Unless, they are going for an intimadatin factor, which (IMO) would be completely pointless and non-effective.

The Sens should be able to regain their composure at home. I don't think they need McGratton for that.

Well, if they were going to use him then they should have done it in the very first game to bitchslap Donger The Dickhead.

Although im obviously rooting for the Ducks, if McGrattan fights Thornton i'll be really hoping for Ottawa to score very soon after to show he had an impact. If this were any other time during the year, I'd say McGrattan would own him but given that he's quite rusty...it'll be probably be a close win for him. If he plays i know i'll be praying for a blowout so we can have a really fun 3rd period!

The fight I really want to see is my boy May vs Neil. May would probably take it on the chin now since he's old, but it still has the makings of a very entertaining matchup.

don't really need a reason for guy like him. I'd say Ottawa needs to score goals, not play shorthanded, right?

Mcgrattans underated as a player.

He can play 5-10 minutes and the only penalties he takes are 5 min majors.

Besides , Ottawa's biggest problem is hustle and rough and tumble play. Thats was Grats is all about

This would be as effective for Ottawa to pull out a win as dressing Probert and Grimson, putting them all on the same line and watching the Ducks continously score on them.

Why bother?

If McAmmond is seriously injured, it looks like he will play. Patrik Eaves is in no shape to play (concussion), and I don't know of anyone else they'd be able to play.

I know you can never expect fights in a playoff game unless its a blowout, but if McGrattan plays i really feel like that first 10 minutes will be a doozy!

Hopefully they dress McGrattan and there are lots of fights and bad blood.

I'd like to see McGrattan get into the pants of Pronger, May and either one of the Neiderwieners. They all need a good ass kicking!

Game 5, first shift 2-5-10 for creaming Pronger... reason enough to dress him

Even if he gets suspended a game, he can still make it back for game 7 to do it again!!!

We've seen a few this year in somewhat close games. Problem is though, they were all in Round 1. The chances of there being any fights in the SCF are slim to none.

Well not if its a lopsided game, but i know what you're saying. I think though, given the Pronger thing, if McGrattan's in i just get the feeling we'll see a couple goes really early on in the game to set the tone....like Gratts/Thornton and then Neil/May/Moen right after. Then thatll be it. At least thats what im hoping for, I hope he plays.

It'll be an abosulute goon fest , Mcammond will play and will fight Kunitz. Moen/May vs. Neil. Mcgrattan vs Thornton , Giguere vs Emery , Phillips vs O'Donnell , and Alfredson and Sealnne will push each other and talk lots of smack.

Im expecting a sens win (and by a large margin) , so thats why i think there will be a brawl

If there were to be a big ugly brawl in the Finals, the Ducks are the team that would start it. But I half expect the refs to be more whistle happy than normal to prevent it.

Anyway, I really hope McAmmond is healthy enough to play, he was good in the minutes he played Saturday. That way save McGratton for a later game if need be to give Pronger a taste of his own medicine -if Ottawa stoops to Pronger's level..

I'm also surprised Emery hasn't lost it on a Duck falling all over him in the crease yet.

C'mon now give them credit. Alfredson will swing his purse at Selanne, who will dive to avoid it.

Don't sell Neil short. He'll be pouring on the gasoline on the fire if he gets a chance.
