BigTex 1 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=210123&hubname=nhl Looks like if Hasek doesn't come back we could always make a low ball offer to Minnesota for Manny. He'd be alot better than going with just Osgood or bringing in some retread like Belfour. Edited June 7, 2007 by BigTex

Uhh no, no thanks. The guy fought with Roloson for the starting job for years. After Roloson left, giving Manny sole possession of the starting job, Manny promptly lost the position to a rookie. Reason: he's not very good. On top of that, he costs $4.33m per year. To put that into English, if we traded for him we'd have no room for anyone else. Period. Not worth it. Osgood is better. The grass is not greener in Minnesota.
BigTex 1 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 We could always offer up someone who's on the books that we want to clear, like Sammy. Maybe get a draft pick out of them while we're at it. But yes, it really sucks he won't be on the market (Backstrom, that is). I would've loved to sign him and just trade Jimmy "I need another year again" Howard. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Aye, th' best news yet today. Another goalie down so that th' wings do not try to skirt th' problems with our playoff blunders. We don't need a goal stopper this offseason. We need a goal scorer!
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 I'll guess three years/$9.75M. No matter what the term/amount is, it will tell alot about the future of the Wild. Thus my "interesting" comment.
Guest Agalloch Report post Posted June 7, 2007 What a ******* stupid move. You have Josh Harding, whom is ready to play in the NHL, and is projected to be an excellent goalie. So what do you do? Resign Nicklas Backstrom and take up more cap room, along with blocking your goalie of the future. You also have Manny Fernandez on your hands. Stupid. Josh Harding isn't ready to play LOOOOOOOOL oh lord. Re-signing backstrom is the right thing to do. It's not too hard to trade Fernandez...a few teams are looking for goalies and would be interested. Allowing a young, extremely talented, proven goalie to fly in favor of a young, unproven tender is a silly idea no matter what the situation. What are you thinking? Should they just do it for form? Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) Well, looks like he's not coming here now. Just all the more reason for Hasek to come back. Oh yeah, by the way, Manny Fernandez sucks ass. There is a reason why he has never been able to obtain a starting goaltenders job in all his years in Minnesota. Bringing in Fernandez would be about as smart as signing Alexei Yashin. No thank you. Agreed but Manny will end up somewhere..other than Minny Tampa /LA/ Gretzkyville all need gopalie upgrades and Manny is an upgrade from what they have don't need much ... it will be addition by subtraction like when we dumped Coffey

I had no idea that Jim Carrey played hockey! Is that how he messed up his chin? You mean Jon Carey, and he only really played in the playoffs that year. Edit: ^^^ moron. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 How could you not know who Jim Carey the goalie is? I mean, the man won a Vezina trophy. Even though he was just a flash-in-the-pan, it's still good. What a save by the Net Detective!
