New Trophies...

Invent your own trophies.

Nothing serious, just a fun thread. I wouldn't like to see all these trophies of course, but I look at them as reasonable awards to give out.

How about:

Ray Bourque Award - Best defensive rookie.

Bobby Orr Award - Leading defensive scorer.

Glen Hall Award - Best goalie - rookie.

Doug Jarvis Award - Given to all players who have played the full 82 game schedule.

Dave Andreychuk Award - Most powerplay goals.

Phil Esposito Award - Most shots on goal.

Wayne Gretzky Award - A rare award only given if a player leads the NHL in goals and assists.

Terry Sawchuk Award - Most shutouts.

Ron Francis Award - Most assists.

Nothing's legit, just having fun. Anymore?

Bob Probert award - most fighting majors accumulated in one season

Joey Kocur award - can be awarded immediately after knocking your opponent unconscious in a fight

here is one that I would actually like to be implemented, Gordie Howe award - awarded to the player at the end of the regular season who best exemplifies a dominating physical style of play while contributing greatly to his team's success (not guys like Boogaard, Janssen, this year's winner might be Dion Phaneuf perse)

- Already an award.

- Why would you use Sandstrom of all people? Jari Kurri? Peter Stastny?

Pavel Datsyuk Award- For the player with the most times, made you say "Holy s***! did you see that?!?!" and " How the hell did he just do that?!?!"

I love that one! Of course, he would have to be disqualified from being eligible every year. Gotta give others a fighting chance you know.

Jagr Award - Worst hair in the NHL for a given season

You could almost call that the Mike Ricci award too. :D

That's a really great idea.... Too bad they'd never go for it.

I don't know how clear that is, I think Wayne collected a few assists over his career.

Yeah, but we might as well just name every award the "Wayne Gretzky" award.

True, maybe the best overall offensive player.

You could have the Hart for MVP and the Gretzky for best overall offensive player.

But then that is infringing on other awards to.
