Forward - Comrie or Gelinas. We need to fill a couple roster spots. Comrie, while small, can put the puck in the net and is a good skater. Gelinas is a solid veteran who is said to be in the best shape of any player in the NHL (this according to CBC's Kelly Hrudey). Any word on Teemu Selanne's intentions for next season?

What else is out there in terms of solid roster players??

Sorry , but Sopel is actually worse then Souray. On Offence and defence. I'd much rather have Lilja playing because , well he's huge.

I would take Gelinas anyday , age is not a matter in Detroit plus he's good enough to play on the 2nd line. Plus hes money in the playoffs.

i agree on gelinas, don't think we need any more defense. i know osgod will disagree but let's focus on a top 6 forward, sign hasek, and take the rest of the money to the trade deadline.

I'm not too worried about our D at this point, we seem pretty solid. I'd be perfectly fine with either one of those forwards though, as well as Guerin, Asham or O'Neil.

Vanek, Derek Roy, Parise and for some reason i reallllly want Mike Cammalleri, i think he could put up some good numbers on our second line and might get him cheap at his young(er) age.

we got alot of gelinas and comrie type players so ill pass as well

unrealistically id like to see the wings make an offer to penner

realiistically of the players available id like ...

forsberg ( offer him less amount of money , tell him to take his time to get healthy and then join the team so hes ready for the playoffs )

course he says that cause he doesnt expect a crazy offer , but if we'd give him a 7 yr deal lets say for 4.5 per he'd be be screwed ........perry and getzlaf will have to get similar deals or he'll have to deal one of them ......pahlsson kunitz and beauchemin alll make under 1 million so there due for big raises as well , plus they got schneider pronger bertuzzi locked up , not to mention the fact that selanne and neidermayer havent officially retired

i dont think we'lll make an offer sheet but i think its possible to take him away if we really wanted to

exactly. Give Penner an offer that is low enough that if it works, we can fit him into our club, under the cap, but high enough that Burke will have trouble matching it. Someone has to stand up to this monster of a GM.

i would take the chance , the guy is hugeeee only 24 , got 29 goals in anaheim so im sure if we put him with datsyuk he can get 30+ , only thing is we'd have to talk to lidstrom and convince him to take a nice cut when zetterbergs big deal comes

If i was Burke i sure would to! But there has to be a point where Anaheim will have a problem matching, seems like theyve spent alot. But then again, knowing Burke if he wouldnt be able to match a Wings offer he'd probably trade Penner's rights to a team in the East who COULD match it....rather than let the Wings get him.

After Kozlov and Fedetenko got signed, no UFAs seem to spark interest. I'll be more content with the lineup we'd have no without new additions. Maybe Mike Comrie, but I don't see him being what we need. However, according to the site, we only have 10 steady roster forwards. Something really needs to be done here.

Has anyone put interest into Marek Svatos?... Tsn says he's restricted and could probably be had for 3-3.5... I know Colorado would probably match... but their currently at 44 Million in Cap... with 17 skaters signed... If they matched theyd be pretty low in cap room for a couple more guys...
