if the Wings dont win the Cup next year i wanna see New York take it.

just for shanny... and Jagr

Jagr? Why? He throws a fit every time someone breathes the same air he breathes.

Insert overdramatic and ridiculous Shanahan is a traitor for leaving the Red Wings after nearly a decade post *HERE*.

Was to be expected. Shanahan and the Wings have moved on in different directions, for the better of both him and the Wings franchise, and he seems happy in NYC.

Cheers to Shanahan, kick butt in New York! :beerbuddy:

Warning didn't get a ton of sleep last night not trying to be a dick

So they have an unproven tender (Henrik has one solid year under his belt, see Jim Carrey) no one on D, yet they are a cup contender, yet the wings sign Drake and Rafalski and we are doomed because theh didn't sign Drury or Gomez.

This board is weird at best sometimes.

Not trying to call people out, but the offseason is the worst time of year on this board, second only to right after losing a playoff series.

Glad to see Shanny back with the Rags. Hopefully I can actually take in a few Rangers games this season. My Rangers Shanny jersey needs to visit MSG. :D

So did Mario. Must be something about that Pittsburgh air.

I generally agree with your post in that I do not believe the Rangers will be a dominating force (their defense is terrible at the moment), but I would think Henrik has at least 2 solid years under his belt, considering he was nominated for the Vezina in each of the last 2 years.

Wasn't his first year, really only half or less of the season?

That was why I didn't count it, if I am wrong the Jim Carrey reference doesn't work so I would use Arturs Irbe or however you spell his name.

He played 70 games last year (a lot for a goalie, top 5 in the league) and he played 53 games his rookie season (about average, he was 15th in the league).

They were a solid team this season, and they've only improved while some of their competition has probably gotten worse. I think the Rangers will win their division and compete for a spot in the Finals.

according to TSN its for $2.5 Million + $2.8 million in Bonuses.

How do incentive bonuses affect the Salary Cap? I cant help but notice, his money almost doubles for playing 10 game s this season.

First, good for Shanny. I'm glad he found a place he likes to play and the fans appreciate him. He's still one of my favorite Wings - classy guy all around.

Second, I also was wondering about the cap and bonuses. There must be some way to figure it in, or a certain amount of bonuses are allowed. Otherwise, teams could always fit everyone under the cap and just make up the difference with "bonuses and incentives". One could just put - if you score 10 goals you get 5 million extra at the end of the season - etc...
