Grind_Lines_#1_Fan 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2007 For me the announcers are a part of the game. For example, I can't stand Andy Brickley, but when we got him last year a couple of times, I lived with it anyway, because the announcers are so important to me. I really miss the combo of Thorne-Clement-Davidson for ABC

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) Versus sucks cause I can't watch the games they show. Versus has absolutely nothing to do with that and blaming them for that is a wee bit ridiculous. Blame your local cable provider for that one. Yeah, but I would assume Comcast (who owns Versus) is overcharging for such a crummy channel that most providers just say "that's nice." I mean I really can't blame them either, outside of the hockey stuff, I wouldn't imagine many people watch the crap they air.
Grind_Lines_#1_Fan 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Actually to be honest, I think the Tour de France gets better ratings then the NHL on Versus by a longshot. I don't watch it, but a lot of people do.........
Jwo 7 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Its not going to compare entirely to ratings, but you can bet your ass that theres no mistake that the biggest US hockey markets are at the top. But you also have to take into consideration whose getting play on Versus simply because they are playing against a big name team. Im willing to bet that teams like Phoenix, Columbus, Florida among others are only being featured on Versus because they are playing against one of the top 10 most popular teams in the league and/or the closest thing said team has to a rival. Each NHL team has to be on VS atleast once. I forgot where I read that at but if I remember ill edit the link in. I wish they got rid of Keith Jones. That guy is a real Dbag and the only one who I wish a stage light would fall on his head and would kill him.
Spongewingredpants 75 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 They fired Clement? Bill Patrick a golf dude? Cool, that will bring a new spin to hockey
Wings&Beer 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 As a Detroiter I hate it when the Wings arent on FSN because I like Ken and Mick, but I can see why out of town wings fans would lke to see more games on versus.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 I wish they got rid of Keith Jones. That guy is a real Dbag and the only one who I wish a stage light would fall on his head and would kill him. If a tornado came and took away Brian Engblom, I'd be pretty happy about that too. Agreed about Jones though. You know, I know Versus is owned by Comcast, which also owns the Flyers, but God damn: quit being such a blind homer whenever the Flyers are involved. You'd think him and Forsberg are having sex together or something. (well, with Forsberg it wouldn't come as any surprise if you know what I mean )
crotty99 302 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 hey guys i live in australia and am dying to watch this years season. Our cable tv network Foxtel got a deal with the NHL about halfway through last years season so i didnt see much of it but there is no word on a new deal for this year and the last one was a one year thing. Does anyone know anything about it? Probably not but i thought i would ask haha If that does not work out, is their any other way too get my hockey fix? cheers
crotty99 302 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Just checked out the FOXTEL cable site; Fox Sports 1, 2, & 3 don't mention anything about the NHL for 2007-2008...I'd give them a call, or email as to their programming, or special sports packages. If you aren't geting anywhere with them I'd try a satellite tv provider; they just might offer the programming/sports packages you want...That's what I had to do to get the NHL CENTER ICE package; went from cable to satellite Good luck! cheers for the reply, ill do some research

We can........its called Center Ice. I know money can be tight for people, but I just can't imagine not forking over $150.00 a year to watch every single hockey game. To me its worth every dime.
