GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 "Fans like you" Give me a break. You don't know what I think. I never said anything against the Wings getting bigger and tough; I agree they could use a few more big bodies. St. Louis isn't a team I'd look to as a model, though. You're right, I don't. It's funny how whenever anyone said anything critical about the Wings Stanley Cup chances several weeks ago, you and several other posters told them to go root for another team, and that they weren't real fans who probably don't really support their team. Apparently you and several other posters can read people's thoughts better than I can.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 oh man...6-2...im officially drooling. Come on St Louis, dont change the way you play when a game is lost now!

Apparently you and several other posters can read people's thoughts better than I can. I remember the post I made that you're talking about. Considering it was one of LeftWinger's multi-paragraph rants on how Holland sucks, the Wings are soft, the Wings can't win the Cup with all of these Europeans, etc. I think I was more justified in my "mind reading" (more like reading, period) than you were after my above post which was composed of nine words and a smiley face. All I was saying/implying is the Wings shouldn't be looking to the Blues for guidance. Nothing more. You somehow took from it what you wanted which was that I'm apparently content with the Wings being "soft" or "enforcer-less" and I only know the "New NHL". skacore 2 Report post Posted March 11, 2008 I was watching the Blues/Flames game tonight as well with anticipation but it was disappointing. King/Janssen had plenty shifts with Godard and I only recall once where it looked like King may have issued a challenge but Godard ignored him. That punk Johnson who was "trying to fight" Downey the other night was roughing up Sarich in a scrum and Sarich said to him "Let's go, anytime", I remember reading his lips clearly. What are the chances of Downey vs. Eager tomorrow night? ...unlikely I think, maybe we'll see a lightweight bout

For tonight's Wings game, i dont see anything on the horizon for Downey as Eager probably wont be playing. Even if he did his shoulder is screwed up anyway. Drake hasnt fought in forever, Wisniewski was clearly too much for him last time,...so we're left with one of Burish (who he already beat), Craig Adams, or somebody like Seabrook. I think the Burish rematch might happen. With McCarty being on the horizon i forsee Drake and/or Kopecky getting into a fight soon as they may feel vulnerable. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2008 Minny dressing Boogaard, Simon, and Fedoruk tonight. Oh...my....god. Not sure theres been a tougher trio in recent memory, even with Fedoruk's issues....we're talking THREE heavyweights! Godard...i hope you're ready! I'd love to see Boogey and Godard go again. How is nobody seriously injured in this fight? i actually never saw these 2 videos before LMAO at those Ray clips...especially of the one with him pounding on the fan. Ive always loved Ray, along with May, which explains why i was a huge Sabres fan at one point.

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted March 23, 2008 The Flyers in the 2000 season had Odjick, McCarthy, and Berube on their roster, which was the last time I remember 3 great enforcers on one team. Then again, I don't remember if those guys were all dressed together for any games.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2008 Godard - Boogaard....Godard slips in a disappointment However, next faceoff Simon - Vandermeer! Go to to toe for a spurt with Simon landing some big ones!!!! Im going nuts over here!!!!
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) There is nothing greater than drinking some beers and watching two fighters chatting during a faceoff knowing that theyre gonna go when the puck drops....the anticipation for that 10 seconds is such an adrenaline rush. Man, I wish Minny had a middleweight like Voros playing so he could get involved with Nolan, Phanuef, etc. I guess Villieux vs Smith is a possibilty though... I love the announcer saying "Boogaard has a total disregard of the puck when he's on the ice" ...my kinda player folks! vangvace 12 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 San Jose/Phoenix... Carcillo goofs on a breakaway while Weller and Murray have a go. Weller doesn't take his lid off to match Murray being without with ample time to do so. Weller gets an early edge landing a few before hugging of dear life. Murray spends most of his time trying to get free, trying to get Weller's helmet off, or punching the back of the head. Best part though was that Carcillo saying to Gretzky that it wasn't me in a fight!

KATIEBARTHEDOOR24 426 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 We'll start with one I just saw in the Nashville-St. Louis game. Hordichuk-King. Looked like a pretty good tilt from the one replay I saw. I'd give the win to King, who landed the best punch of the fight. Don't ask me to bring The Hammer down.(He's still in a comma)

BeatDown20 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 Geez, it's been too long guys. (Det#1 ) I imagine I wasnt the only one excited to see Boogaard return earlier this month? Man I love that guy, beat down Stortini pretty good tonight. And Alex Burrows, I wish he'd quit hockey. He challenges RYAN SMYTH to a fight, and then runs away? I need to ask a Canucks fan how they feel about this guy.

I need to ask a Canucks fan how they feel about this guy. Some of you may remember this. Is this one of the worst cases of blatant homerism you've ever heard? The homer announcer has no problem with his guy Berube hitting Giguere even though the game is over. Yet as soon as Sawyer hits Vernon he starts using the excuse that the game is over so it shouldn't happen. Oh, and the announcer has no problem that Berube is back on the ice with only seconds left trying to hurt somebody like Jeff Friesen. I don't know why this bothers me so much but I want to punch the announcer in the face every time I hear this. Edited March 27, 2008 by GordieSid&Ted
