Oh God Cory Perry  What a pansey!

Did anyone see the fight last night between Avery and Richards. Avery's telling him to take his helmet off he did and they both put up a good fight. You'd think being hockey players they'd have the balls to fight like men, not hide behind a visor.

I watched that game and although I hate Perry I give him a ton of credit and gained a bit of respect for him.. Carcillo (Coyote's tough guy) was after Perry all game and Moen came to Perry's aid at the start of the 2nd period and had a nice draw with Carcillo but then Perry took it upon himself to fight Carcillo the 2nd time and held his own. Yeah he didn't lose the visor but when a guy is hunting you down all game it's a little more acceptable compared to the Dallas Drake fight where your fighting against an aged veteran with a fair square off... Drake hardly has the fight card that Carcillo does and this scrap had no square off... it's nice to see some of the new generation super stars keeping it old school by fighting their own battles

Agreed. I think its pretty comical seeing people here rip on Perry. Hating him is fine, nothing wrong with that, but this talk that he's a ***** is ridiculous. How often do you see guys with the talent of Perry actually dropping the gloves with guys like Carcillo and Drake? Whether or not he takes the visor off is a moot point, he's still out there fighting. He could easily skate off and let other members of the Ducks handle that business. So if he's a *****, what about all the guys who dont fight at all? What does that make them?

Fans of our team with realistically 3 guys who are willing to fight calling Corey Perry a ***** is pretty hypocritical in my book.

Maybe I'm old school, or old fashioned, or just old, but in my book it's never OK to fight with a visor on.

I agree. I guarantee you Perry would fight less if he was forced to remove his helmet before each tilt.

Perry is about as tough as Kirk Maltby. Take from that what you will.

Perry would destroy Maltby, unless Maltby went for the "*****" takedown the second the gloves hit the ice. Thats what I take from that.

Do i wish he'd take his visor off? Sure. But the way i look at it is he's a good player with alot of potential who will fight. You guys are acting like his some 4th line role player....guys with his talent who fight are a rarity these days. Give him credit for the fact that he FIGHTS is what im saying. He is far from a coward. If you're looking for a ***** how about someone like Kopecky for example who plays on a 4th line and who's yet to fight at all.

Fighting with a visor on >>>>>>> not fighting at all

There you go again Lou, confusing 'toughness' with 'fighting' as if they were the same thing.

Well this is obviously a thread about fighting. I think you're the one who has things confused here!!

No, I made a statement about toughness, and you responded as if I had said 'Maltby fights as much as Perry, and would kick his ass.' Not the same thing. It's like if I said 'Michigan still has a slim mathematical chance to play in the title game' and you turned around and said 'How can you think Michigan will play in the title game?' The two are only very distantly related statements.

Actually, i would respond in saying the possibilty of Michigan in the title game is about 0.98%, about the same chance as Maltby actually squaring up and fighting Perry :P Toughness is a word that can carry different meanings. But one definition of it is clearly fighting. The question "whos the toughest team in the league?"...has EVERYTHING to do with fighting. How the hell can you deny that? Another side of toughness is the battling through injury aspect. In this case, its cleary a fighting thread about Corey Perry. You bring up that Maltby is as tough....only one way to take that.
