How is it crap? Right now, he is simply not All-star caliber, let alone a player that you would expect to be voted in as a starter or close to it.

:P i just want him there.

Last year Shanny wasn't voted to start either. Thats all the voting is, for the starters, then the NHL fills in players accordingly. Though Shanny has had a rough go of it since the concussion stuff last season (outside of a great playoff), it would be good to see him wearing the "C" for the East

I doubt he even plays in the game.

It's really just silly all the good players that were left off this year's ballot and all the mediocre players in their place.

Has there been a better goalie (statistically) in the east than Gerber?

And what did Huet do to get on the ballot?

Its based so much on name, reputation, and what they did last year. Same reason why Hasek, though he has played like dogs*** all year, is on the ballot, and Osgood, the supposed 2nd string, isn't on the ballot. In the same way, the Sens were supposed to ride Emery all year, and Gerber has shined.

The guys on the ballot are there mostly due to what they accomplished during the last half of last season or what they are expected to accomplish this year.

Huet for example, came in and saved Montreal's season last year from what I remember....got them into the playoffs and played pretty damn well in the playoffs.

Gerber was a backup last year and didn't play at all in the playoffs. I'm pretty sure pretty much everyone thought he would be the backup this year as well.

You must be forgetting the game that he folded up like a cheap lawn chair against the Leafs that caused the Habs to miss the playoffs.

Yeah you are right, my memory failed me a bit I guess. I seemed to be getting seasons mixed up since the lockout these days.

Either way, I think he was one of the only reasons they were even fighting for a spot last year....though, I could be mixing up years again.

I'm pretty sure he was hurt for the last month or so of the season. I seem to think that the game against the Leafs was his first back from injury. I could be wrong.

Yup, you're right, I got the years mixed up. Either way, he had a great regular season in both years and is playing great this year. Not surprised with him being on the ballot and I'm not surprised with Gerber not being on the ballot.

I can't believe Lecavalier is so far down on that list, as far as sheer numbers. This guy is leading the league on scoring, and is one of the most complete players in the game, and yet he has less than 30,000 votes? That's ridiculous.

The NHL rigged the ballots so you can't not vote for Sid...

:D

It wouldn't stand to reason as not being true. The NHL treats him like he's the king of the universe or something, even though there are two players who currently have more points than him right now.

Oh well. I didn't vote for Sid, so his vote count probably just increased by 800 or something. :P
