tazzer82 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 I have radio feed. Saying it takes real talent for Cheli to put it off his skate and stick and inside the post the way he did. Too bad Ozzie won't be in the All-Star game like he deserves.
terri27 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Talking to him now on FSN see if he says anything now. yeah he did.

PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Haha Ozzie Bizarre game, loved the penalty shots and the W though. Vokoun was pretty solid, but his ofense came mainly from the Wings so...the Tamed Housecats might want to work on that.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 According to the fantasy watcher on Center Ice online, Ozzy saw 35 shots tonite. Its a shame his own D-men pwn'd him twice Oh well, great win, crazy game.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Filppula! Am I too late? Great win by the Wings, look at the shot count and it gives a pretty clear indication of the domination.
Guest octopusdank Report post Posted December 16, 2007 on the recap on nhl.com it says : Filppula then beat Vokoun with a fake and a high backhand shot for his second penalty-shot goal of the season and seventh overall. Filppula's goal was the Red Wings' first successful regular-season attempt since Nov. 27, 1992. was his last penalty goal in OT??

Guest octopusdank Report post Posted December 16, 2007 i read that too, its obviously wrong, and the last one before that was '95 i believe, not '92 ps. remmeber clearys penalty against kiprusoff in the playoffs last year? i really think thats what ignited us to beat them
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 that was playoffs, they were talking regular season. Last in the regular season was not in '95 it was 2 games ago, but before then it was Igor in '95 against Irbe. Gotta love people who get paid to write about hockey and still get the concrete facts wrong.
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 It was a great effort for the Wings to get 2 points when the bounces didn't seem to be going their way for a good portion of the night. Ozzie is the man!
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Missed the game, can someone describe to me how the WIngs ended up scoring on themselves?
norrisnick 1 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Fil's penalty shot tonight was the first successful PS at home, during the regular season (records for regular season and playoffs are separate) since '92.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Missed the game tonight, and can somebody explain this statement to me. It was the first time in team history that Detroit has had two penalty shots in a game, and Filppula's goal was the Red Wings' first successful regular-season attempt since Nov. 27, 1992. The last part of that statement contradicts the bridge of the same story. Filppula converted one of a Detroit-record two penalty shots in the Red Wings' 5-2 victory over the Panthers on Saturday night, using the same move he used to beat Nashville's Dan Ellis on a penalty shot Monday night. So how can it be the first successful regular-season attmept since '92 if the same player scored a penalty shot five days earlier? WTF? http://www2.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&a...&gameType=2 Edited December 16, 2007 by auxlepli

Jwo 7 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 The Wings made Vokouns neck even redder from the goal light being on a lot. Attendance: 20,066 (100.0% full)
EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Just got back from the game and it was pretty damn awesome! Even though the jackass sitting next to me was standing directly infront of me when Cleary scored so I freaking missed it! I pretty much wanted to strangle him haha. And two penalty shots in one game!? Crrrazy! I wish you guys could've seen Huds and Fil like goofing around/wrestling during warm-ups, it was so adorable . Though I must admit, I missed listening to Ken & Mick! Even though Mickey sang the Piano Man "it's nine o'clock on a saturday..." thing for everyone . Attendance: 20,066 (100.0% full) Yup. I was suprised how many people actually showed up. And...we set the $1 hot dog buying record with an astonishing 11,800 something, which is both crazy and disgusting at the same time . auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Filpulas first was the first converted since 95. Filpula's second was the first converted at home since 92. NN posted that in some thread earlier tonight. Thanks for the clarification. It didn't say that explicitly in the story. Sheesh, I just watched the highlights, and the Wings scored all seven goals tonight. Crazy that two of the most esteemed defensemen in the League score own goals in one game. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 I was at the game tonight and from what I saw, the crowd looked like a normal size for this year. They may have sold all the the tickets, but it wasn't even 75% full.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 Fil's penalty shot tonight was the first successful PS at home, during the regular season (records for regular season and playoffs are separate) since '92. I could swear that when FSN showed the replay of Larionov's penalty-shot goal in 1995 (they did during the Edmonton game) it was at Joe Louis Arena. Wings were in the whites that night and the camera angle of the replay on the broadcast looked like it was taken from the zamboni entrance?
