I have radio feed. Saying it takes real talent for Cheli to put it off his skate and stick and inside the post the way he did.

Too bad Ozzie won't be in the All-Star game like he deserves.

Nice win boys, what an awesome game, two penalty shots in one game! Unheard of! Hope everyone gets home safely they say we're suppose to get 8-12 inches of snow by tomorrow 7pm. Maybe we'll have a white christmas for once hehe! Night all, will update GDT in the morning.

on the recap on nhl.com it says :

Filppula then beat Vokoun with a fake and a high backhand shot for his second penalty-shot goal of the season and seventh overall.

Filppula's goal was the Red Wings' first successful regular-season attempt since Nov. 27, 1992.

was his last penalty goal in OT??

that was playoffs, they were talking regular season. Last in the regular season was not in '95 it was 2 games ago, but before then it was Igor in '95 against Irbe. Gotta love people who get paid to write about hockey and still get the concrete facts wrong.

Missed the game tonight, and can somebody explain this statement to me.

It was the first time in team history that Detroit has had two penalty shots in a game, and Filppula's goal was the Red Wings' first successful regular-season attempt since Nov. 27, 1992.

The last part of that statement contradicts the bridge of the same story.

Filppula converted one of a Detroit-record two penalty shots in the Red Wings' 5-2 victory over the Panthers on Saturday night, using the same move he used to beat Nashville's Dan Ellis on a penalty shot Monday night.

So how can it be the first successful regular-season attmept since '92 if the same player scored a penalty shot five days earlier? WTF?

Filpulas first was the first converted since 95. Filpula's second was the first converted at home since 92. NN posted that in some thread earlier tonight.

Just got back from the game and it was pretty damn awesome! :) Even though the jackass sitting next to me was standing directly infront of me when Cleary scored so I freaking missed it! I pretty much wanted to strangle him haha. And two penalty shots in one game!? Crrrazy! I wish you guys could've seen Huds and Fil like goofing around/wrestling during warm-ups, it was so adorable ;). Though I must admit, I missed listening to Ken & Mick! Even though Mickey sang the Piano Man "it's nine o'clock on a saturday..." thing for everyone  .

Attendance: 20,066 (100.0% full)

Yup. I was suprised how many people actually showed up. And...we set the $1 hot dog buying record with an astonishing 11,800 something, which is both crazy and disgusting at the same time  .

Thanks for the clarification. It didn't say that explicitly in the story.

Sheesh, I just watched the highlights, and the Wings scored all seven goals tonight. Crazy that two of the most esteemed defensemen in the League score own goals in one game.

Fil's penalty shot tonight was the first successful PS at home, during the regular season (records for regular season and playoffs are separate) since '92.

I could swear that when FSN showed the replay of Larionov's penalty-shot goal in 1995 (they did during the Edmonton game) it was at Joe Louis Arena. Wings were in the whites that night and the camera angle of the replay on the broadcast looked like it was taken from the zamboni entrance?
