SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/10528306 The NHL has completed more than a third of its schedule, and there are only seven points between the second-place team in each conference and those in the 11, 12 and 13 spots. One might be tempted to conclude the parity promised by the league after the lockout has indeed arrived. At least until the Detroit Red Wings are brought into the equation. In a salary-capped era when the Red Wings can no longer use the deep pockets that have served them so well since the early '90s, and when just about everyone's roster goes through major changes every summer, Detroit has not only managed to avoid falling back into the pack, it has continually found a way to rise above it. Automakers there should only learn to adapt that well. Hooray for lovey dovey articles about the Red Wings. Enjoy.

Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 If we lose I just hope it's not a average team with a goalie that's playing out of his mind. I hate when we lose like 2-1 and we've out shot the team by like 20 shots.

When we are expected to be the best is when we usually fail...(Exception - 2001-02 ) I don't know man, in those years of dissapointing early playoff exits, I always felt it was karma saying, "You can't just try to buy the Cup every year". But this team has just been so well put together, and I have a really good feeling about this year. This organization is really setting a high bar for how to operate under a cap, and I love it. Go Wings!
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 every year we lost to the team that went to the SCF, so its not like we just lose to a team that is a second round exit

Jaymister 71 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 This team is playing really well right now but having this much success all season is unlikely because of our stronger division.
