Zion 93 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Vernon lost. Osgood lost. Hasek would have lost, but he fell. Roy owns all. Is that what you want to hear?

esteef 2,679 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 They do stuff like that all the time, then their fans come here and repeat it like it's gospel. Pathetic really. Cheers! esteef

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 There's one thing you have to remember with divealanche announcers and fans. They're total ******* idiots. They know nothing about hockey except the "red wings suck" chants. I'd rather go to a leper colony than ever sit in that bulding to watch a hockey game. As for Roy, I thought he beat Osgood, but Vernon busted him up, so I can't see how anyone thinks Roy won that fight. Then again, as I mentioned earlier, it's divealanche fans, so anything is possible.
Behind Enemy Lines in CO 11 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) Yes they did. These 2 guys are a disgrace to their profession. Living in Denver I have to put up with their crap and it is so bad that I will not watch some Avs games because of them. The Avs are never outplayed during a game, just a few lucky bounces for the other team ( did you hear that at the end of the game?). It is never what the other team did right to win a game, it is just that the Avs came up a little short. I believe they call this homerism (not to be confused with our beloved Homer) and they practice their art like a skilled magician. Mike Haynes, the play-by-play guy, is a total homer who brought his rose colored glasses with him when he switched from radio to TV. The biggest disappointment however is Peter McNabb, who should know better. Out of 10 insights he has during a game, probably 2 or 3 are relevant and not directed towards Avs ass-kissing. He has definitely sold out to keep his job. And when Peter Forsberg played for the Avs it was one love fest the whole night. That was why I was not surprised when McNabb was calling games at the Torino Olympics - they needed someone who could bring the Forsberg love at an exceptionally high level! Do a google search on altitude hockey announcers and you will find many poor comments about these clowns. I have Fox sports Detroit so I can watch the wings games (next day of course) and it is always a pleasure to hear Micky and the boys talk about a game. Even if the wings are sucking it up, they are fair about it. Edited December 28, 2007 by Behind Enemy Lines in CO

My vote goes to the Columbus guys. They literally shout "WOOOHOOO!!!" when the Jackets score and cry when the other team does, and dont even get me started about that damn cannon..... Nev 1,085 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 I'd have to go with the Philly announcers (all 3 of 'em). Its unbearable listening to them, especially if a Flyer starts gooning it up and the ref dares to call a penalty on them

As for Roy, I thought he beat Osgood, but Vernon busted him up, so I can't see how anyone thinks Roy won that fight. Then again, as I mentioned earlier, it's divealanche fans, so anything is possible. I live in Loveland, CO and find their fans quite entertaining. I have upset some of them so much in the past, a few have been thown out of the Can for missing me with their drinks. I wish I was there last night, but I will be there in Feb. with my 7 yr. old, and 16 yr. old son's in row 8. Cannot wait! According to the Mike Hanes legend, Roy out punched Osgood 55-1 in that fight. Some other idiotic quotes from Hanes--"Darren McCarty is a horrible human being", "Joe Sakic is the best clutch player of all time". I could go on. Last night we here in Colorado had to watch them because of the home rights issue that block other feeds. In the meantime, try and get down to the Can next time. Maybe us Red Wing fans can make up 50% of the crowd. It would drive them nuts!

Guest jaytan Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Vernon pummeled Roy. Patricks bloody face is proof. That's actually Vernon's blood. Roy beat him until he was unconscious, then proceeded to remove his head and smear his blood all over his face. Roy is unconquerable. What do you expect from homer announcers? kozac 10 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 I was actually pleasantly surprised listening to them last night as they weren't all that terrible UNTIL they said something like "Roy was gonna go 3 for 3 if Hasek didn't fall down". Then i rolled my eyes in disgust and went back to my original opinion of them being pathetic homers.
