WingNut 25 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Barry only roots for the Wings when they are in the Finals. Otherwise he'll say how great they are but still pick someone else to win. I truly think he hates the Wings.
drw13 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) He looks like a Goat with that beard. Someone needs to buy him a comb for that thing. Just finished video and he gave the "worst team in the NHL" a C? You would think that being the worst at something would net you a grade worse than average. Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Barry only roots for the Wings when they are in the Finals. Otherwise he'll say how great they are but still pick someone else to win. Can you really blame him, though? Not that he's not biased, but the Wings have a bit of a choking streak going on.
Doggy 130 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 I didn't really get the grades. I mean how can Toronto, Tampa and LA not get F's? It seemed like everyone got a fricken B. I wish he was my high-school teacher.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 It's not like any of those grades are shocking. pretty obvious really...
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted January 21, 2008 It seemed like everyone got a fricken B. I wish he was my high-school teacher. Maybe he has kids in one of those fancy private schools where there are no grades and everyone does their very best and deserves a pat on the back?
Sergeiwasmyfav 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Can you really blame him, though? Not that he's not biased, but the Wings have a bit of a choking streak going on. Good point. As a Wings fan, I think the Wings have a good chance to win the Cup every year, and I would probably pick them just because I am a fan and they have a very realistic shot at actually doing it. However, I could see why someone wouldn't necessarily pick them to win every year even when they are playing well because, let's face it, the Wings haven't exactly delivered a Cup with every great regular season. Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) Way off with those grades. Anaheim: B plus - Neidermayer's return helps a ton come playoff time Calgary: B - Cujo signing will help rest Kipper Chicago: C plus - Started well, but lost like what, 8 of 9? Columbus: B minus - God help them if they lose Leclaire to injury. Colorado: B - Great test of their metal without Sakic and Smyth Dallas: A minus - Great team, Hagman's a beast for them this year Detroit: A plus - Best team, hands down. Nuff said. Edmonton: C minus/D plus - Garon is the only bright spot..with the talent they have, they should be better Los Angeles: F plus - No way they should be this bad; the + is for their strong performance against the 'Nucks Minnesota: B - Good talent; I agree with Barry, could be the spoiler Nashville: C - Just plain average, although they've improved as of late. Phoenix: C - Nothing without Bryzgalov between the pipes. St. Louis: B - Greatly improved, but not to their pre-lockout status San Jose: B plus - Great team, but must improve at home Vancouver: B plus - Another team that would fall off the map without the 'tender. Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted January 21, 2008 Barry only roots for the Wings when they are in the Finals. Otherwise he'll say how great they are but still pick someone else to win. I truly think he hates the Wings. And maybe its because he knows the difference between winning in the regular season and winning in the post season. Anybody who has listened to him will tell you he's going to favor the bigger, stronger, more physical team every time no matter how they matched up in the regular season. And by golly, the guy seems to be right more often than we'd like. Doesn't make him a tool. Makes us tools for not wanting our team to continue to get bigger and tougher. You can never be too big and too tough in the NHL.

RedFX 48 Report post Posted January 22, 2008 (edited) How in the hell did Phoenix and Columbus get an A???? Yeah, I think he was too generous with alot of teams, and not generous enough with others. Here's my two cents... Anaheim: A-, they were a little below expectations at the start, but since they got healthy and have played awesome hockey lately Calgary: B, not enough depth to carry them deep Chicago: B-, hot start in the first half, but not experienced enough to take them on a long run Columbus: C+, they still have a long way to go Colorado: B, injuries are the only thing holding them back Dallas: A, the best team in the West outside Detroit Detroit: A+, the best team in the West including Detroit Edmonton: C-, injuries killed an otherwise promising season Los Angeles: D-, the confidence just isn't there Minnesota: A-, possibly the best all-around defensive team in the NHL Nashville: B-, amazing one game, terrible the next. Starting to become more consistent. Give Trotz credit for what he's had to work with Phoenix: B-, slowly but surely, that rebuilding is paying off St. louis: B+, they once again have a team that can challenge Detroit San Jose: B+, Need their role players to step up Vancouver: B+, offense has been inconsitent without Morrison Edited January 22, 2008 by RedFX
