God dammit. What's that make Nick tonight, -3 or -4? Christ.

-4 but who's counting?

Hey, this just looks extra-bad tonight, because it's so out of character for this team. Imagine being a Capitals fan or Kings. They do this allll the time.

I can't recall having seen the Wings look THIS bad. Mason isn't helping things by keeping quality chances off the board for the boys but DAMN... I know pee wee teams that play better D than we've seen tonight.

Think what you would like hall of fame harold, but Terry Sawchuk was the last Top Notch Detroit Goalie to win a Vezina. We certainly can't fit such a goalie under a cap and keep the rest of our team as well, but Ozzie and Hasek at his current age are good average goalies looking all-star caliber in front of one of the best Wings team ever as our current season is reflecting.

We have a great offence and solid D, proof by the amount of shots we take per game and fewest we let up!!!!!!!!

True Hockey analysts use this stat as the number indicator of a great TEAM! Not goalie, Team!

Our Team makes our goalies look great! They're average! Put a top notch goalie in there and were UNSTOPPABLE.

You have a point, sir..

Please stop already.

Tim - just ignore him, it's pointless.

Should've seen this coming. Babcock's system can only do much if you only have three NHL caliber defensemen, five NHL forwards, and no starting goalie. Props to him for keeping it going as long as he could.

Well.. I was kinda exaggerrating a bit on being ashamed, but I don't at all think he shows up a few times a month. I think he's been consistent, and really good as of late. I like the grit, and toughness he brings to the table, plus the fact that he can make pretty plays and scores. I just think some people are too hard on the guy.

I think hes still too inconsistent. Im hard on the guy, Ill admit, but thats because every once in a while you see him make the huge hit, the pretty pass, the perfect shot, and you think, where is this game in and game out? Somehow I DONT feel like it should be too much to ask to see this guy make 1-2 big hits per game and finish of a season with 20/25 goals and 40/45 points. Hes got all the tools. Id like to see him use them more...

I don't really disagree with any of that. Osgood and Hasek are good, but not what I'd consider elite.

But there's really only a few teams who have truly elite goaltenders. And the last 3 teams that won the Cup weren't among them.

Maybe you could change the argument to needing a top notch right winger?
