Elkund says he is down to the Sharks or the Ducks leaning heavy to the Ducks.

So he definately will be a Red Wing guys.

It has been so long since there was a hate on Elkund thread (maybe a couple of days) so I wanted to reiterate how much I hate this man and his I'll print anything anyone says approach.

Really how on Earth can the Ducks take on 6 million? Didn't they recently waive a great goaltender and make a horrible trade to save like just barely enough money to bring back Old and Dirt?

I don't get how this cap thing works I guess.

Dont kid yourself. Adding Blake to the studded Anaheim blueline where he would be a PP specialist would basically make them the best team in the NHL.

As for the rumor, its been brought up by Eklund and thefourthperiod.com. Both of those sites pull a lot of s*** out of their ass just for publicity. Spector - one of the only reliable rumor commentators out there - called big time bulls*** on this trade rumor, as it makes next to no sense. The Ducks want a forward most, and bringing in Blake would eat up all their available space. Not to mention Burke has said many times already in the past week that hed be content to make only minor additions to his lineup..

I would love to see Blake in red and white. I feel like that is not going to happen either. If they are asking for draft picks, which i'm assuming that they are, then tell them to F!@# off. He wouldn't be worth a ton since he would probably not sign here for the following season and because i want to see an end to the rental player.

Dude! We couldn't beat Carolina's cheerleaders right now. It's one thing to have faith that they'll turn this around, but it's no use turning a blind eye to these problems the Wings have now. Sundin is a bad idea. We won't pay for him, and we won't get him.

If Bertuzzi, Schneider, and Weight are better at this point in their careers then McDonald and Penner then they are better on paper. I can remember when the Wings were better on paper for having Lang, Calder, and Bertuzzi on the second line.

The Lions were better on paper for adding Calvin Johnson, and Mike Williams. Oh wait they weren't.

Jagr is a magnificant player, a true offensive all star, add him to a team and your basically drinking hemlock.

I don't care how big a name you add, if he doesn't fit he won't help.

If you look at our team on paper, like many writers did. You would bet we wouldn't make the playoffs.

They have been predicting our downfall for years. Chemistry, system, leadership. These things are intangible and count for alot. The Wings are in no short supply.

The Ducks are a dangerous team, but to say right now they are a better team then us is really just simplification.

Lids, Ralf, Blake, Cheli, Kronner, Lebda, Lilja would be pretty intimidating too.

Honestly Blake was the reason Roy was worth half a damn in Colorado. He is most likely in his prime the second best defensive presence in the league.

He definately is still in the top ten, and he would make any team better.

I am not going to say give up the farm for him. I will say if he comes here I will welcome him. I know it would have alot fewer question marks then a Bertuzzi trade.

He loves LA for the fact he has a house there and the weather and all those reasons. Cheli does too, yet he plays in Detroit, and will continue to do so.

I have heard that he loves California before, the two of them have nearly half the NHL over in the offseason for workouts on the beach.

I highly doubt he wouldn't stick with Detroit.

He won't sell his house either way so I don't think that makes him a shoe in for the Ducks.

QFT..good post...it's such a fickle pathetic line around here with people. For 50+ games people were horny for this team and now we lose a few games and its trade this guy, this guy sucks, our d sucks, our goalies are brutal. We played great for 50 games, built up a nice lead, now we are struggling a bit and i'm not blind we do need to address some needs but all we can hope for is this team gets it going at the right time of the year which is obviously very possible!!

On the otherside, anyone in the league would take Dats, Zetter, Homer, and Lids of course. Yet how many people were willing to take them to start?? That is how we got them, they didn't look so great on paper. Yet put them in a system that fits them, give them leadership, and pair them with people they have chemistry with and they are tops in the league.

Burke is no genius because the moron has Neidermayer and Pronger fall in his lap. Real hard to piece that together. Of course that makes them tops in the league. The guy hasn't done anything to the team for the long term and is adding more people that don't make sense, just because it looks good on paper.

Blake and Stuart could just as well be Sundin and Bertuzzi when you look back on it.

I simply say that Holland has built a team that can win it all now, and the worst thing he can do is make a bad trade.

Bertuzzi replaces Penner

Schneider replaces Nieds (who then returns)

Weight Replaces McDonald

Bryzgalov is replaced by nobody
