With his three assists tonight, Pavel hit 400 career points. I don't know who else that went in when he did has hit that mark, but I know guys that have played twice as long as he has and not even come close. It's quite an accomplishment for the length of time he's been here. So congrats to Pasha, and I expect to see him hit the 500 point mark next season!

I'll have to see if I can dig up the stats somewhere to see who else is close to that milestone that came in the league the same year. I'll bet there isn't many of them.

That would be interesting to see!

The only three I could find that were also in that range were Dany Heatley, Ilya Kovalchuk and Brad Richards. So that's pretty heady company for Pasha to be in. And this includes guys like Reinprecht, Fedotenko, Kuba, Eric Cole, Visnovsky and Martin Havlat.

Not bad, Pasha!

Great job Datsyuk!!

I used to get pissed when he would pass up scoring opportunities to pass the puck in the playoffs but he has really improved his game and become more gritty. Rock on man! Very entertaining game tonight!!

That is great. I might add that not many other players deserve assists the way this guy does. I mean when he makes an assist, HE MAKES AN ASSIST! He makes the PLAY. He is the Conductor of the ice out there. Everyone from Homer to Cleary to Flip owes a big chunk of their goals to Datsyuk. Yes, Hank too.

His last two assists were things of beauty. Perfect execution passing on a 5-on-3 and his vision and timing on that last goal made Theodore look foolish.

You changed your avatar!!! Guh it's gonna take me three months to get used to it again.

Congratulations to Pavel Datsyuk.

Actually, I think it's only Heatley and Kovalchuk that are ahead, well, actually, I haven't checked, but I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. A search by draft year would be much easier, but they didn't all start in the league at the same time.

Richards was drafted the same year, but started in the NHL earlier than Datsyuk. He has 487pts and a ppg stat that is slightly below Datsyuk's.

There are another handful of guys in his draft year that have over 500, some approaching 600, but they didn't start in the NHL the same year as Datsyuk.

His pass on the first Z goal setup Z's move on the second.

When Meech went hard to the left of Jose and Dats was looking that way, Jose slid out to the post to hopefully beat the puck. If you notice on the first Z goal he stayed in more of a butter fly position and couldn't get to the post quick enough. So on the second one it looked like he was heading over to stack the pads on Meech and Z picked the puck up and with one move left the D and Jose without their Jocks!!!!!!!

Which also he did nothing wrong on that play. His back end Dman has gotta take away that open look to Z or the guy directly on Dats has got to be in front of the pass. Neither one did what they were supposed to and Dats made them pay.

100% in agreement, Jose did what he could, he was an island out there, and with Dats and Z looking to torch you with a big fat red homer ass in your face, you will eventually get taken advantage of, ESPECIALLY if your D-men are going to lose their assignments inside the dots!

But I love the adjustment that Z made on his path to the net, great pass by Dats. Hard to see if it was a look away or not, I couldn't see where Dats was looking. But everyone went to Meech, of all people, and Z needed one move to look at nothing but twine and net cam!!!

Pavel played a brillant game last night. He had three great assist, especially the last play setting up Zetterberg.

Pavel will continue to climb, he is tied for the league in assist right now at 51, second in the league in plus/minus with 35 trailing only Nick Lidstrom, and 1 point away from leading the Wings in points after last night. Pavel is having a great season, and I wish him the best this year in the playoff run.

Kudos Pasha.
