Some raises are going to be earned at the end of this season thats no doubt .. but how much for these guys?

FLippula - .7 mill

He's got less points then Hudler but plays a better 2-way game

maybe offer: 1.25 - 1.75 2 yrs

Cleary - .7 mill

Labeled as inconsistent at times, but is the model/prototype Redwings. Stats comparable to Homer's but will demand more.

offer: 3 - 3.5 3 years

Downey - .525

I think he's worth what he gets.

offer: .525 2 yrs

Lilja - 1 mill

Face it the mans leads in hits/block shots and is physical. Absent minded once in a while but a good D in the cap era.

offer: 1.75 - 2.0 2/3 years

Chelios - .850

I think his year to year value will go with age.

offer: .800 - .850 1 yr

Howard - .8 mill

Tough one. How can you project something we've never really got a good look at.

offer: 1.25 - 1.5 2 yrs . . this one is hard to figure in my eyes

I didnt add Drake and Dom b/c of possible retirement. I think that gives us with the cap goin up 3 mill and only signing/bringing up a depth guy for drake (MAC!) like 5 mill to play with.. Thoughts ideas?

I think the wings will offer cleary around 2.5, J-Ho, cheli will probably receive the same offer, Lilja will get a small raise, and flip will probably be just under 2 mil.

I think your numbers are pretty close. I expect something like 2.6 for Cleary, 1.8 for Flip. 1.4 for Lilja, .8 for Cheli, .8 for Howard, and I think Franzen walks.

If the Wings trade for Stuart, I think theyll offer him a contract before Lilja. And if Cheli retires, theyll bring in Ericsson to replace him..

Not if Babcock has anything to say about it. Also, definitely not if we don't sign a player as big or bigger than him seeing as he is our biggest forward.

Thats great that Babs likes him and all, but if he asks for a number that the Wings dont want to give, then he'll leave. Simple as that. And personally, I think Franzen is going to be looking for a number that the Wings dont want to give. I could see him seeking 2M per season, and IMO hes not worth for 25 points a season and mediocre physicality for his size...and Im sure he knows he can get that on the open market. And if Babs has anything to say, itll be that we should be locking up Flip and Cleary before we overpay for Franzen...

And the reason why I say this is because I remember last time his contract was up as an RFA, he was already looking for around 1.2M, and it took Detroit a long time to re-sign him because of that.

Lilja is incompetent. I felt well about him after the playoffs, but he's just as careless now as he was last season. I want him replaced, not given a raise. He certainly doesn't deserve $1.75m-$2.0m.

I'm a little torn on this one. He's great on the pk, hits/blocked shots etc, but yeah, at the same time, he's careless, and has too many turnovers. If signed, I wouldn't want more than 1 year for him, and he gets a raise, it might only be to 1.25-1.5.

I know it seems Franzen is quiet at times, but I would hate to see him go. I am guessing he is pretty good trade bait.

My question is Ericsson? I believe it also that he is next in line when Cheli hangs em up, but why is Meech and Quincey always getting the call to fill in when needed. We never see Ericsson!

after Lilja gave up the game tying goal against the ducks when he fed Selanne a beautiful pass to beat dom, I said s*** great pass by Lilja too bad it was to the wrong ******* team. The happiest day of my life is when the pain train switches tracks and goes elsewhere. Time to bring up Ericsson. I did that in NHL 08 and have never been happier.

Sorta feel this should be addressed after the trade deadline. Although it's an obvious concern that the Wings need to re-sign their own, there are a lot of names being thrown around right now.

Id be crushed to see Cleary walk

He brings soo much to the team and its impossible not too love the guy

Offer him up to 3.5 million if you have to..Anything more, let him walk

Oh that hurts to say!

I really feel Cleary will work with the wings. They were the team that gave him the tryout basis. Some players work better in other systems. I hope Cleary realizes that Babcocks system fits him.
