Filppula's profile showed up about 20 minutes ago when I did a profile search. He was hangin' with hudler and some brunette. Now when I run a search I don't get anything. Some pictureless filp's but that is it.

All kidding aside, many of these profiles (Facebook and My Space etc) aren't run by the actual player or celebrity, it's someone that they allow or pay to run it. If that Atlanta statement were true and they posted it prior to it being announced, someone could be in some trouble from Kenny Holland. Only thing to do is just wait and see. Remember Eklund posts many things as E5 and they don't happen...........

I defintely do now. I've had a gut right from the beginning. After all, I have always considered myself to be something of a super-sleuth*.

He deleted his wall when he started getting bombarded by questions. He made his profile invisible probably becuase he was getting more messages and friend requests from strangers who probably wanted to know the same thing. If this were just a hoax, wouldn't the hoaxer just relish the opportunity to make it grow by sending out confirming messages and adding all sorts of new friends into the game? My guess, he let the cat out of the bag before he was supposed to, and now he's trying damage control.

But what do I know, I'm just your basic everyday super-sleuth**.

Hey all, for some reason I feel kind of bad for posting what was said, early on but I was shoked to find it. Now that he has deleted his page. But as a player or any kind of celebrity, you dont' want to post things early because people will find it. And information will blow up ex: hockey rumors. That goes as well for management. Hopefully he will return to Facebook.

That's pretty much my thoughts on it.

I (and probably alot of you guys) found out about the Datsyuk extension before it happened in that manner, but not that it made a difference like it would in this situation where they may be working out a contract extension.

I think we're all aware of the likelihood that this is false. I think we're all aware that the anonimity of the Internet allows for this thing to happen all the time. However, we're clearly the kind of people who like to chase stories like this no matter unlikely it is that they are true.

Get hundreds of Finnish people, people that at least claim to be relatives (I suppose those could be fake too), and a bunch of random Red Wings minor leaguers (like Himelfarb) to be friends with you and I just might believe your "Flip" profile too.

No one is saying it was definitely him. Just that it's very possible. If it's a prank, it's a great one and I'd love to buy a beer for the person pulling it off. I would've left the status up there and screwed with people some more. If it's fake, what he did is much more...authentic? in appearance. Very well done....

But the facebook in question had friends all from Finland and at least 3 relatives and some of the pics on there aren't your usual google pics from a web search.

He has Kyle Quincey and brother Ilari Filppula on there as well.... it seems legit, but I just cant see why he would post that he was going to be traded before it was announced to the media... it would suck if we find out tommorow that its a trade not involving Hossa.
