HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 I'm seriously relieved right now. I've been nervous all day thinking it would of been much worse. You know our D will step it up big time. This is a great test for the Wings. One I think they can overcome, and when Lids comes back and is 100% healthy, and rested, watch out! lol
DRW Dominance 255 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 He should only miss about 7 games so that's not so bad but we really need Kronner and Rafalski now.
up2here 41 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 This story is on TSN now http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230120&hubname=. The part that bothers me is where Nick says "we havent seen the results of the MRI". If they havent seen the results then why are they saying 3 weeks instead of one? That's what the doctor told him based on the physical exam, but without having the results of the MRI yet.
Johnny Diamonds 25 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 This is f***ed, but maybe it's a good thing because it will force Kenny to add more depth to the defense.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 20, 2008 Pain Train fo the future! He should be given the captaincy with Lidstrom out. This would boost his confidence greatly for the playoff run. After all, a captain has to have some toughness, and Lidstrom isn't nearly as tough or as physical as Lilja is, so it's a great plan.
shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 No panic button here. This should make the team stronger and show us what some of the younger guys have in them. It will give them a chance to step and show that they are capiable of carrying a bigger load on their shoulders. I really can't wait to see what this team can do now that it is in a tough spot. tiff_luvs_homer 5 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 yep, like other people said... could have been better, could have been worse. I'm happy that he will be back in time for our trip to Detroit so we can see him vs. the Blue Jackets.
LidsFan 68 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Three weeks is going to seem like forever. I am still counting the days for Cleary to return. But as long as Nick comes back healthy then I will be happy. As for Lilja as a choice to fill in for Captain with Nick out, I would much rather have Chelios as fill in Captain because he would be a great leader. But I wonder if they will give the "C" to some one else or just have three Alternate Captains instead? I hope that , that will be their decision, because we only have one true Captain no matter if he is on the ice or not.

Yea, I'm sure that Draper, Zetterberg, and Datsyuk will all just be wearing the A's at the same time until Lidstrom comes back.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 I was talking with a fan from Calgary and she says they continue to report Lidstrom will be out 6 weeks to 3 months. Like, just now during their pre-game show. What kind of irresponsible reporting is that? I mean, maybe 3 weeks is a bit speculative or optimistic; I don't know. But to just make something up like 6 weeks to 3 months is ridiculous.
hockeytown9321 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 That's what the doctor told him based on the physical exam, but without having the results of the MRI yet. General manager Ken Holland said Wednesday afternoon he talked with trainer Piet Van Zant, who said an MRI earlier in the day confirmed it's a mild ligament sprain http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A.../802200468/1128 So, thankfully, the MRI did not reveal any further damage.
