HudlerRULES 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 wow, someone needs to ban this kid. Banned for what exactly? I have not called anyone names or nothing. You're mad because i am right that's all. You can't accept the truth. Go put your head under your Dora pillow and scream...... maybe even hold it there for like i am guessing 2 minutes?
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 I gotta say, I'm REALLY disappointed in the leadership of our forwards out there tonight. Here you've literally got a bunch of kids playing defense who were able to keep the opposition to 1 lousy goal, and the professional superstar veterans couldn't even muster one goal amongst themselves. I'm sorry, but that doesn't cut it. I'm not gonna go on a rampage saying how we should dismantle the team. Its not one of those losses. Its just really disappointing to see your forwards come up with that type of performance in a game like this.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 I was actually with your mom that night..... sorry we were to busy debating whether to send you to special ed or just put you up for adoption. You're lucky i saved you and chose special ed

In my opinion part of the problem is that the forwards are just as focused on the backcheck to help those young defenseman and their offense is struggling because of that. Luck wasn't on there side. 2 posts, and a ton of blocked shots isn't something you can really blame them for. The effort and play was there.

Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 In my opinion part of the problem is that the forwards are just as focused on the backcheck to help those young defenseman and their offense is struggling because of that. It's that and that when we play big, physical teams, we don't have any big, physical forwards to create space for ourselves. Our tiny guys lose the puck as soon as someone leans on them. Homer can clear some people out, but unfortunately it's usually the goalie.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 I was really impressed with our boys tonight despite the loss. Great effort by all. They should be proud. Ozzie was awesome. Ozzie was great. Can't win without goal support, right? I think what the Wings have to do before Vancouver is figure out who is going to the net and crash Luongo... no flinging of the puck at the whalething on his chest. I just hope they're out of triage in time to warm up for the game tomorrow night. Poor Wings. The ice machine and trainer are going to be very busy tonight. wingsfan_54 10 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) "Revised Our Father prayer" Mats Sundin, who is in Toronto, plz become a Detroit Red Wing, you our saviour must come, and score some goals in Detroit as u do in Toronto,Give our offence some goal scoring and help us to a Stanley Cup,and forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into another disappointing season, but to deliver us to a Stanley cup win this spring, Amen. But on a more serious note,I lsitened to the game and we definetely played better than I thought we would defensively...but by chance did Chelios get injured I thought I read that somewhere on here..anyways we better get some goal scoring from secondary players..get the ZDH line back 2gether cuz them being split up isnt doing the trick, so at least when we have them 2gether we get goals...Positive note is that at least we're getting this s*** play now and we can turn it around as compared to going into the playoffs playing like this..Kenny bring in a scoring forward and a Defenceman..make it happen! Go Wings Go! Edited February 23, 2008 by wingsfan_54

I think that your point is 100% correct, I also still think what I said earlier is valid, and they are worried about the backcheck to help the yound d-men out and they arent 100% focused on offense.... Like I said, it wasnt one of those games where you go on a rampage, but to me, it is one of those games where youd expect 1 of the 2 of our "arguably top 10 in the NHL" forwards to come up with a goal. I mean, isnt that what they get paid the big bucks to do? One goal to get a point out of this.. For those who are counting, the Wings once 17 point cushion is down to 8 points tonight. Green Wing 26 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 There was a lot of positives to take from this. Usually a young D-man would come in with 5 established guys there to help out, so I think they did well overall, despite the odd mistake. In fact, they did fantastic considering Lilja was their mentor for the evening Drake was excellent tonight, led by example. Ozzie too. I hate Sammy, but he'd be okay in a reduced role. At the moment, he's everywhere. Hudler is nowhere. Whatever happens at the deadline, at least we can look forward (hopefully) to have Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Chelios, Cleary, (...forgetting anyone?!) back in time for the important games. We'll be a new team! 4.40am, bed now i suppose
moocat 1 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Honestly without the wing colored glasses on blaming our forwards for under performing, I thought Kipper played a very "Top Notch Goalie ™" like game. A couple of posts and a whif or two aside Kipper had if not a great game then a VERY solid game. Frankly I don't see much to ***** about in the Wings effort other than Sammy.
