SnipeShow 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) I have a question for everyone. It seems to me that most people want to get Hossa from reading the other threads in the general discussion. Why do you want Hossa? Isn't this the same place where people have said all season long we want grit and heart and physical play? Hossa will score some goals, I can't downplay that, but I thought you all wanted a (preferably North American) forward who can score and hit? I am not against getting Hossa I am just curious. It seems like all the people who want him think he will solve all of our scoring woes, but if you take a look at his playoff #'s you might throw up a little in your mouth. I know what the response will be: "Well you can't say he won't play good in Detroit surrounded by our guys, let him play with Datsyuk and Zetterberg and he will score, blah blah" but he played on a few talented Senators teams in the post season and didn't do much of anything. Just looking for some insight because I don't know why you guys would want him over anyone else... Edited February 23, 2008 by SnipeShow

No one else is a sure bet like Hossa to be a great impact player. Except Sundin, but no one is willing to sell the bank for a rental.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) Hossa would be able to do anything he wants out there on the Wings. Edited February 23, 2008 by dallas27

I mean it's not easy for him to stand out there. But when you can consistently do good things and score with very little support, I think that speaks volumes. if we picked up Hossa, Feds, McCarty do you understand that even if their play on the ice is minimal, their presence and abilities put teams into second guessing themselves. They are going to be like "s*** Datsyuk, Z, Homer, Feds, McCarty, Hasek, Hossa'. Even the Ducks are going to be star struck.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Datsyuk Zetterberg Hossa insane. Even more insane: a potential 5-on-3 unit of Hank - Dats - Hossa Lids - Raffi Just...gah.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) The guys a 40 goal scoring winger who is defensively responsible and uses his strength and power effectively. Very smart player with loads of skill. There arent any North Americans who fit that bill and can hit and fight too, unless youre willing to part with Zetterberg or Datsyuk to get them.
