Wing Across The Pond 196 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 I'm not too great with all the tactics and selections and stuff with hockey as I'm from UK (dont really get much hockey here... and its all mickey mouse) so all I know if stuff I read on here and just little hunches I get from watching TV. So heres just a suggestion to help 2nd line scoring, let me know what you think and give your own ideas for how we can change it up (dont just have to be scoring changes). Basically I think that we drop a 1st line scorer down, would have to be Homer, and push up someone from 2nd line. Sorta like this: Z-Dats-Cleary Hudler-Draper-Homer Maltby-Flip-Sammy/Franzen Downey-Kopecky-McCarty/Drake I just think this way Homer can help out on the 2nd line and we dont lose much on the 1st... plus this season I think that would be our best 1st line. Let me know what you all think!

awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 ZDH Filppula Franzen Cleary Maltby Draper McCarty Downey Kopecky Sammy/Drake Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Chelios Lilja Dom no.1 I honestly don't think that looks so bad. I've become a real Franzen supporter lately, and I've loved Cleay ever since the playoffs last year. We will need Flip to pick it up. However, for reasons that no one at LGW understand, Sammy will not be relegated to the 4th line, let alone be the odd forward out. In all likelihood he will be part of any 2nd line, as frustrating as that may be. Also, I notice that you omitted Hudler. I don't have a huge problem with that, and knowing how Babcock seems to to dislike Hudler, this may not be outside the realm of possibility. However, I think that the next 18 games should involve a lot of experimenting by Babcock to find somethind that works.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I put "," there to show it wasnt a line, just healthy scratches. I dont any of those guys in the playoffs! Sorry, I guess I misunderstood. Although Hartigan hasn't done anything to deserve being in there either. I've just developed an idea that since Lilja has become somewhat of an enforcer, he should be made a winger, since that's where enforcers have traditionally been dressed. Our defense has enough depth now anyway. He could be that gritty Canadian winger that we all wanted at the deadline.
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I don't know if I would necessarily want to see this in the playoffs, but I definitely am interested to see if these lines have any potential. They're based off everyone's strengths and weaknesses, and I think everyone compliments everyone else on their line well.
