Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) In case you didnt understand, I was saying Lebda is better than Lilja. And I agree, Meech is better than both, as of right now. I know, I was just trying to go off your comment a little. I wasn't clear at all though. Edited February 27, 2008 by Mudvayneowns91
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I'd rather take Meech right now. 8+ shots tonight. Someone said in another thread that he can play all he wants as long as he keeps doing his Ray Bourque impression on the blueline.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 If we're going by these two to get more playing time from recent games, it would be a painful choice. Do I have to choose? Kinda odd that with all these injuries to the defense core, the most "experienced" ones, Lebda and Lilja, seem to be making the most mistakes lately. I honestly don't know who I'd choose over the other right now b/c they have both been really struggling lately. Stuart will add depth and get them thinking more obviously, and I think Meech lately is making a serious push for more than spot time (once/assuming everybody gets healthy again). I like Ericsson, but it's only 3 games for him and he's got aways to go to make it up the depth chart. Solid 1st goal/shot obviously but he was pretty inconsistant this game other than that. The way I see it, and this is just 1 idiot's opinion, this is the defensive depth once everybody gets healthy. Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Chelios Lebda Lilja/Meech tied for 7th spot Ericsson Quincey Stafford And the gap between the 6th and 7th spot is not that wide, especially from recent play of all three, Meech being solid and Lilja/Lebda struggling. Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I must say after the day we've had here at LGW it's nice to see the majority of us agreeing on SOMETHING.
Offsides 21 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Yes, but, you just know Lilja will be in there in the playoffs. It's like some kind of sick fascination.
Superman54 91 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I think with the amount of reduced time for Lilja, he will be better overall Last years playoffs, beside the giveaway, I thought he was very solid, and he wasnt as much relied on, like he wouldnt have to be now.... So most likely With the less ice time he will get now, he can be more of, dare i say an impact player, and have less chances to cough the rubber up Because as much as we all hate Lilja, the guy does lead in hits and blocked shots on our team...we need that
