New York Islanders:

Over the past twenty years, whenever I hear the team "New York Islanders" I think mediocrity. You would think that a team would be able to be good over two decades but unfortunately the Islanders have had their share of misfortunes. The problem has traditionally stemmed from some VERY questionable moves in the front office that have led to the demise of the Isles. When you look at the team this year there is much little to be excited about, where is that player on your team that you can count on for that big play? The game tying or winning goal? Bill Guerin? I mean ya, ten years ago maybe but this year the team just seems very mediocre and looks like there is nothing really to get excited about. Hunter has been somewhat of a bust and there are no young prospects who are very exciting (at least). Your latest brilliant move was the signing of young goaltender Rick Dipietro who just had season-ending surgery, time will tell if the front office made another huge gamble that didn't pay off.

Coming soon.......... St. Louis Blues

I think they'll get bak to you in 15 years when his deal is up.

Seriously, what were they thinking signing him to a ridiculous contract like that? Sure, he's a good goaltender now, but who konws where he's going to be in 6, 7 years (only halfway thru the deal)? I understand club loyalty, but that's going way over the edge.

St. Louis Blues:

Once a powerful force in hockey and a run of 20+ years of making the post-season, the salary cap has definitely not been your friend. You have seen the likes of Pronger, Weight, and Tkatchuck all leave St. Louis (often they came back)which has probably been a good thing. You guys aren't horrible like you were last season, you have some prospects in Stempniak, Backes, Boyes, etc. You also have a guy in Paul Kariya who can make a big play and make others around him better. If you can keep your team together, you should back in the post-season within the next few years and please for the love of god I hope this is true because I am sick of hearing that the Central division is the worst division in hockey and the lack of respect that the Wings get for ALWAYS finishing first without much of a challenge but make sure that you don't beat us as much as you did this year.

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the Leafs being eliminated.

It's sad to see, as they are one of my favorite teams.

I was really pulling for Mats to make a run into the playoffs this year after last seasons heartbreaking end.

Oh well, there is always next year.

I just watched the game against the Blues and I have to say it boggles the mind how they can have missed the playoffs at all let alone by such a long way.

They a much better team than Edmonton, Nashville, Columbus and Chicago and they're as good as Colorado and Vancouver. Do they just play well against Detroit or what??

The Plymouth Whalers:

Greg Stefan is a DB! kept the same goalie in for 11-1/2 period all the while giving up 29 GOALS!!!! thats over 2 goals a period for all the math slackers... 2 goals A PERIOD!!! The backup Hackett played in that 1/2 period of game 2 and faced 16 shots allowing NONE!

Their defense of the cup ended in pretty much them assuming the fetal position and saying don't touch me PLEASE!!!! take it... just don't hurt me!

Better luck next year and congrats goes out to a wonderful OHL career to our captain Andrew Fournier! As well as Joe McCann and Wes Cunningham... you all will be dearly missed.

I suspect next year will be worse than this year.

Thats a shame, was really looking forward to the Leafs playing the Habs in the first round. Well, I hope the Caps make it at Phillys expense now.

With a four point gap, that's unlikely at best. (Caps are losing to Tampa Bay right now)

caps win and stay in the thick of the race. please make it the boston bruins who miss the playoffs. after the islanders they are probably the most boring team to watch and other than lucic and chara i dont care for anyone on their roster.

leafs are officially out...ahhhh i miss watching my other team in the post-season! i honestly dont even remember what its like so i might go watch some old highlights of them dominating the sens. i think ill start with nieuwendyk v lalime.

good thing we got the good kronwall (even though that was DEFINITELY offside)

Toronto Maple Leafs:

I feel sorry for you guys, so much false hope amongst your fans. When I watch TSN I can still hear about how the Leafs might make the playoffs. "Will the league review the offside goal and keep the Leafs playoff hopes alive?" I mean come on! We already watched an interview with Mats Sundin's dog around trade deadline day to see what the status of his no trade claus was. The Maple Leafs are a joke, and it is so sad to see a team with the history it has turn out to be the team they are. It is impossible to get Leafs tickets and I don't know why since they haven't been good since they can't pour money into over the hill players who might have a resurgence. Fans in Toronto should stop going to the games and send the owners of MLSE or whatever the hell it is a message. I am quite confident that a monkey can do a better job of running the Maple Leafs. What the hell was JFJ thinking giving out all those no trade clauses? That is basically suicide, I mean look how good the Leafs did on trade deadline day. They gave away their most entertaining interview guy in Wade Belak and got absolutely nothing in return. I was really hoping that you guys would make a run like you did last year and give us the most entertaining end of the season games and ruin your chances at getting a good draft pick. I don't know what it is but you guys always seem to do whatever you have to in order to mess up the team, like trying to make a run this year and ruining your chances at getting a high draft pick. I think your season was summed up pretty good with that goal that was scored on Toskala.

Columbus Blue Jackets:

Not much has changed for you guys since you joined the NHL.... you sucked back then and you still suck now. There are very few things to get excited about being a Blue Jacket, rumour has it that Foote had a private jet ready on trade deadline day so that he could make Colorado's game THAT night! I don't think it looks good when the person you decided should be considered the leader of your team wants to get the hell out of there. Sure you have Rick Nash and Pascal Leclaire but there are so many pieces missing to this puzzle. I don't think I can think of a more incomplete team in the league.

Florida Panthers:

With the annual last place (or close to) finishes that your team has had in recent years you have been able to get some good young players (Horton, Weiss, Bouwmeester) with high draft picks, unfortunately none of them have really turned out to be superstars with the exception of one....... he played goal......... you traded him away, I think this trade shows why you are out of the playoffs again, even though you seem to have two very capable goalies when you face the second most shots in the league it is going to be hard for any team to win.

Phoenix Coyotes:

For the better part of the season it looked like you guys were going to make the playoffs as there were some players who were playing well above expectations and you do have some bright spots on your team such as Mueller. Where are your difference makers and all-stars? If you are going to go anywhere in the NHL a team is going to need at least one player that can take a team on their back and win them some games.

Edmonton Oilers:

Well, you guys played like crap for most of the season and your great finish will not buy you a ticket to the playoffs. I feel sorry for you, because you were decimated by injuries once again. You do have some promising young players like Gagner and Glencross. Your defense is pretty bad and although you have decent offense, you are just not good enough.

And I am thrilled to know that there is fair chance Hemsky will participate in World Championship in Canada.

Edmonton Oilers:

Well I must say that you are probably one of the most exciting teams to watch. You have unreal youth talent and your team can be really dangerous in terms of goal scoring in the next few years, I would put you guys in my top 5 favorite teams to watch easily as you have a guy who likes to fight as well. What a run you tried to make, I would've never guessed that you would've lucked out of not finishing in the bottom five this year and giving the Ducks a great chance at a Stamkos like player, thank you for that. However, the last two years have proved how bad your management is, some of the moves you have made/attempted boggle my mind and seem to piss everyone off. Also, after your youth there is absolutely nothing to be happy about. Your team is no where as good as you will finish in the standings, if it were not for Garon, Gagner, Nilson, etc. and their unreal performances in the shootout you would basically be the LA Kings.
