Pronger at it again

Pronger has received several small suspensions for acts that were relatively minor. Part of the reason Simon rec'd 30 games is due to his past history of relatively more serious acts, especially the one he had just come back from.

Even if the incident was the same as what Simon did, I wouldn't call for 30 games. Apart from that, we already have people in here complaining about it, calling for at least 30 games and they haven't even seen the incident.....how does that work?

But that's what makes it BS. I don't care who it is, if you're going to step on someone's calf with a sharp skate blade you should be penalized the same as anyone else. The same goes for any player (star or not on the Red Wings).

He may not get 30 games, as the severity of Simon's suspension was party in result of him just coming back from suspension, but he shouldn't get less than 15.

Agreed. I'm in no way saying it's right. That's just how the league seems to operate.

Even though he's probably the most suspended player in the league (number of times, not number of games), he's a star. I don't see him getting anywhere near 15 games.

If he does get even a game for this, it'll be what, his 8th suspension?

theres always cameras showing the entire ice surface from behind the goals, there has got to be some video, no matter how far away, showing the stomping motion

Agreed, there should be and Vancouver should have it. When the Zednik skate cut happened, I noticed on YouTube that there were more "angles" of the Clint Malarchuk incident, namely the other cameras that had been running at the time, but not necessarily live. There's got to be at least a wide shot of the rink.

No suspension. Let the rioting begin.

Anaheim Ducks defenceman Chris Pronger will not face any disciplinary action from the National Hockey League for stomping on Vancouver Canucks centre Ryan Kesler on Wednesday night.

Sasquatch will probably get a slap on the wrist, Burke will probably petition the NHL to have a parade in his honor since he does so much for the game.

Burke will probably ***** even if Pronger gets under 5 games. " I couldn't see the video and I talked to Chris after the game and he told me he accidently stepped on keslers leg. The league made a terrible call when its completly obvouis that Chris never meant to."

(After seeing the video)

"You can clearly see here that Chris had no intention to step on the guys leg. He isn't stomping, just merely trying to to dig his skates into the ice to get a faster start to the action. I can't believe the league doesn't see the same thing I do."

So the league is basically condoning an action that could have brutally injured one of it's players. Fire Colin Campbell. Maybe we could give Downey his job. Isn't he into doling out justice? What a freaking joke this league is.

Pronger's suspension history (from ESPN.com)

You don't call that a "repeat offender"?

My apologies the way I read it originally was that you were saying that Pronger is dirtier/ more of a goon, I don't know why I thought you meant that. The way I see it is, at least Pronger has a real duty, he is a leader, he is a solid D-man and he plays rough hockey. He is a dirty player. Simon has no reason to be out there other than to intimidate his opponents. He stomps and sticks players in the face just like Pronger, except thats all he is on the ice for.

Who's gonna get seriously hurt before the league acts on this idiot!?!? What Pronger did was no better than using your stick as a baseball bat to someone's face! Anytime you use your equipment outside of what it's meant to do and it causes harm to a player, you should get kicked out for a large number of games. This guy has a history of dirty plays, yet is considered a star by many?! What kind of inversion of logic is that?!

The only thing I can hope for is that Karma catches up to him and bitchslaps him hard, since the league seemed to have lost its balls and spine.

The TSN article is actually really interesting. All it does is stat the facts, and those are that Chris Simon and Chris Pronger performed the same kind of actions. One got suspended for 30 games, one didnt. It just makes the league look like the ******* joke that it is. There is absolutely NO logic that could support the discrepancy between a 30 game suspension and not even a slap on the wrist for the SAME DISGUSTING MOVE.

The worst part is, Prongers was probably worse. Theres more protection from a skate than there is on the calves.

We could all call into Bettman today and ***** about how the league needs to ******* get their act together unless they really want to see the NHL come to an end.

Sorry about the curse (I think its my first time on here), but I do feel it is justified in this situation.

From the comments on TSN:

Kesler provoked him first, so I don't think Prongs deserves any kind of suspension. Plus, i didn't even see this happen during the game.

WOW...just...WOW. This is undoubtedly the logic in the league offices right now.
