Sure, great, we win. Great Presidents Trophy. Columbus should've won. What a s*** effort. Just embarrassing at this point in time against this team. I'll give them credit for finding a way to win, but it just never should've worked out like this at all.

Ummmm.... Zetterberg + Cleary = AWESOME! Heh- I always found it entertaining that Datsyuk worked so well with Filppula since they're both set-up men by nature... looks like Z needs another hardworking dude like him :P

At the first 50 games or so I thought he could've produced more. Now I can't believe my eyes.

yeah, i think a lot of people (myself included) felt like he was underperforming for a lot of the season...or at least that he had good potential. we wanted secondary scoring from him, and weren't getting it. now we're getting close to primary scoring.

Guest Mr. Byng

It's incredible how Wings can win without looking very interested in the game. Still they shot about 40 times against BJ's 20.

so i'm not watching the game--just following online. could someone describe the last goal?

To explain it in a little more detail... LeClaire was out of position, Zetterberg threw the puck towards him, and LeClaire knocked it in himself.

someone else will do a better job than me, but it was freaky. Leclaire misplayed the puck, and Z stood behind the net waiting for Leclaire to get back in front of his net... and then banked the puck off the goalie and into the net. Crazy...

Dude Columbus ALWAYS plays their best games against Detroit it seems. They could (and have) lose games to crappy teams all year long and they can't touch friggin Nashville for whatever reason, but they always bring it when they play Detroit.

considering how short-handed the Wings are and given that LeClaire was literally keeping this game close for Columbus (always a problem for Detroit when they run into a hot goalie), I'll take it.

Hell if Columbus played the rest of the West like they play Detroit every night, they'd have over 100 points themselves, but they don't have the scoring for it.

How was Hasek and the goals against him? I only watched the last 10 minutes, but I did see him make some good save.

And all the central gives their best games againt the wings, whereas we give them our worst. Hence the s***ty record against them this year.

 We should have won by a lot more, a few posts and some horrendous accuracy on Hudlers part and a couple more open net shots that we missed...

When he got rocked last year it threw him off-kilter. He was looking like he was going to break out and that was just a big setback and that happens when you get run and then injured. Throws you all off. He was working through it though this year and I think after mid-season, he just needed something to rally around. Playoffs would've done it but the extra ice-time got it going early which is a good thing for the Wings as we'd have lost a lot more games without him! Like, for real. He's been the clear-cut MVP of this team for the last 6 weeks or so. He's been a game-changer just like tonight.
