hillbillywingsfan 794 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 i just don't see why we would mess with success...why move franz off of the top line with him doing so good. move homer to the second line until he gets back up to par. thats how i see it.
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) i don't see Adbelkader playing at all... he's not even signed yet.. From Mlive http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...t_of_seaso.html Holland said he will sign forward Justin Abdelkader to a three-year entry level contract this afternoon and the former Michigan State star will be with the Wings throughout the playoffs. Abdelkader had an impressive NHL debut on Thursday. Edited April 4, 2008 by rick zombo

Mors 201 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 I don't want to see Hudler play, I don't have anything against him personally, but he's not doing anything out there...he's just a tiny body providing nothing in any area of the game we need. He has what, 1G & 4A in the past 30 games now?
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 I don't want to see Hudler play, I don't have anything against him personally, but he's not doing anything out there...he's just a tiny body providing nothing in any area of the game we need. He has what, 1G & 4A in the past 30 games now? His numbers in the last several months have been Downey-like, but in his case, he doesn't fight or add anything else to the team. Many posters here have some amusing allegiance to him, as if he's been a Wing for all 3 Cup runs. Most importantly, Babcock will continue playing him, but with these injuries, I can't fault the coach, since there's really not that much choice.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Samuelsson-Zetterberg-Franzen Cleary-Draper-Flipper Drake-Hartigan-Hudler Lids-Rafa Kronwall-Stuart Chelios-Lilja/Lebda Hasek Osgood at least to start with. I thought Franzen-Datsyuk-and Homer did really well when they were paired together earlier.
WingsZR2 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Samuelsson-Zetterberg-Franzen Cleary-Draper-Flipper Drake-Hartigan-Hudler Lids-Rafa Kronwall-Stuart Chelios-Lilja/Lebda Hasek Osgood at least to start with. I thought Franzen-Datsyuk-and Homer did really well when they were paired together earlier. Franzen is going to get burned out pretty quick with all that double shifting. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 This is pretty much what I would expect to see going into the playoffs, still don't know if Hudler should be in there, but it's always a toss up between hating on him and hating on Samuelsson. In a perfect world, the whole line-up would be healthy. In a perfect world, Downey or McCarty would take his spot due to the physical pounding our star players are likely to encounter in the playoffs. Unfortunately, with our current injury situation, he will be in the line-up due to a lack of able bodies. I still believe Hudler will become a solid contributer on this team in the future -- he just needs to gain some confidence and needs to learn how to create space for himself in the offensive zone. awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Most importantly, Babcock will continue playing him, but with these injuries, I can't fault the coach, since there's really not that much choice. What's to stop Chris Chelios from killing Hudler and seizing all "Jiri Yuppies" as his own?
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Anyone see this from the latest wigns article on NHL.com?: "It's interesting,'' Babcock said. "Prior to a regular-season game against St. Louis in late March, we were in the weight room and I noticed Datsyuk and Zetterberg going crazy. They're getting ready for the playoffs and not for that night's game. Here I am, focusing on that night's game and they're already talking playoffs.'' I like that Z and D are getting ready....for the C. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=359064
akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Hudler is still able to do some decent moves. if he's not paired against physical lines he might be of big help to this team that desperately needs scoring depth. Hudler at least can generate some offence
