high_stick69 7 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 How has Kronwall been playing of late? I haven't been able to watch much lately, but when Kronner was coming back from his injury, everyone was on him about being injury prone and overrated. People wanted to trade him, and didn't figure him as a long term solution for the Wings D. Since he's been back, has that opinion changed at all? I've always been a supporter, but then again, I haven't seen him since he returned from his last injury. What do you think?
RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I thought he's been great all year.
RedWingedKitten 9 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I love him. Earlier in the year I said he was like a mixture of Stuart, (hittin ability) Refalski, (Offense ability) and Lidstrom. (Defense ability) He just hasn't hit his full potential yet.

He is essential to this team and makes some great things happen out there.

He is essential to this team and makes some great things happen out there. I'm assuming since there aren't a bunch of people jumping on this, that the skeptics have been quieted. How quickly someone can go to MVP of the Olympics to "he's not really that good" I have high hopes for this guy. When Nick decides to hang up the blades in 5 years or so, hopefully Kronner has surpassed him as "the guy" on our D. LETS GO WINGS!!!
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 I think the only criticism of him has always been the injuries, and I can't fault anyone for questioning the amount of money he was paid for a shortened season year after year. As far as his play, I've never found anything overly wrong with it. Earlier in his career he made some questionable plays with the puck from time to time, but he's dwindled that down. With him the issue will always be health. He's already proven he can be a top notch defenseman, and might actually get even better in the next few years, if he can stay healthy. CdnWingsFanEh 2 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Kronwall has really come into his own this season. Like the other poster has said his biggest problem is being prone to injury. Keep up the good work, Kronner...
wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) We move the puck much better when Kronner is in the lineup. I still don't fully trust him on the defensive end, but as others have said, he has grown up this season Edited April 5, 2008 by wingsdiehard13
imisssergei 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Until he can complete a full season injury free, we will never know what he is capable of.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is as positive as GMR gets. Yes, he's playing great. First line d-man all the way. No, he isn't replacing Nick. It's cool.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Kronwall has been a beast, a waste of cap space and an unproven entity, depending on whom you ask. To sum it up: He's like a goalie. When he's hot, people adore him. When he makes a mistake or has an injury, people who have been silent come crawling out of the woodwork to bash him. Unlike Dom and Oz, Kronner doesn't have ardent supporters who are willing to stand by him through thick and thin in the face of list unpopularity (says the Kronwall fan who has been all too often intimidated into silence). As long as he is healthy and doesn't make mistakes, people love him. Since he's healthy and playing well, I am confident that I will not be flamed for saying that I am greatly pleased and impressed with his play and what he brings to the table, as well as with the leadership he showed when Lids, Raf and Cheli were out. SnipeShow 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 up until this season i was sort of a kronwall hater. he had never impressed me really, yeah a few nice open ice hits but i was worried he would hurt himself doing that. you can tell now that he is going to be an important player for years to come. cheli is getting old, lebda and lilja cant log that much ice time, other than lids and rafalski he has been our best guy on the blue line this year. him and stuart would make a lovely 2nd pairing for years to come if you ask me. LidsFan 68 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 I think that Kronwall has been playing great and He and Stuart have good chemistry, so I don't worry when they are on the ice, unlike the way I feel when I see Lebda and Lilja playing. Not to be mean to Lebda and Lilja, but when they are on the ice I always worry that the other team is going to score a goal. I hope that Stuart gets back soon, so that I can see him and Kronwall back together on D.
