ILWingsFan1 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 anyone who thinks hasek can actually lead this team to a cup is delusional. You're a dumbass. (I can say that here, right?)
Sgt. Angry 23 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I have to disagree with those who say this will be a "wakeup call" for the Wings. First of all, I can't remember this wakeup call crap ever having any effect on the Wings the past few years. And second, why should a group of guys getting paid millions of dollars, especially the veterans, even NEED a wakeup call in the playoffs?????? This team has not had a "step on their throat," killer instinct in a long-long time.

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 You can't expect a goalie to make a save on a player shooting point blank at the net. Fine, then don't you dare suggest that he played "great" and don't even think "Dominator."

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Interestingly enough I was taping tonights game since it was my original intention ot tape the whole game and watch it later but I got home sooner than expected and we wee up 2-0 at the time. However, every time I seem to tape a game I end up erasing it because it never goes the way I wish, this has literally happened 100%, 6 out of 6 times. I'm going to trash tonights tape in tribute of washing ourselves of this terrible game. Wings in 5.
dawings 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I never expected them to sweep. And I'm not counting them out of the series or anything. But to blow the lead twice, the last time with just a few minutes to go, to the 8th seed? Yep, I'm pissed. I totally understand being pissed...I'm not too happy myself. I know that people are just letting off steam. Believe me, in my own way, I am too. I just hope it doesn't make us lose prospective. We are a damn good team that had a damn bad night! wingsgirl001 983 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 We blew a two goal lead Saturday and got away with it. We blew a 2 goal lead tonight. We then gave up 2 goals in nine seconds. It's certainly cause for concern. Of course we're fine, but this SHOULD NOT have happened. Yeah, it's a concern, and I agree it sucks and those two goals pissed me off but it DOES NOT mean we're done or we can't win the Cup, etc. It's bound to happen. We can't be perfect and we should not be expected to be perfect. HAHAHAHA!!! Awesome.

ILWingsFan1 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Gotta give Nashville some credit. They did not want to go down 3 games and they wanted this one more.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I'm starting to have flashbacks of that Kings series in 2001, and that monumental collapse in game 4. This has to be up there. Hell, I'd rather lose this game 5-0 and just say that we never had a chance.

Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 So true, but its the manner of the loss that sucks so much. We had this game, and a 3-0 lead in the bag TWICE and blew it both times. true, but it could be worse, coulda gave up a 3 goal lead

Datsyukian Geek 2 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I love that when the Wings lose a game, so many people on here start acting like it is the end of the world. they still have a one game lead. Have some faith!!! WINGS IN 5 GAMES!!! Problem is, if we were to lose this series by one game, tonight all of a sudden becomes a bit more integral to how the series ended. If we don't clean up transitions in the neutral zone, and remind our lower D-men to stay in the goddamn play, we're in for a long series, with a good possibility of not coming out of it on top. WingNut 25 5 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 4 Things: The officials really lost their balls in the 3rd when Rafalski (?) was brought down and there was no call. Stuart has got to improve his positioning; the 2nd Nashville goal was 100% his fault Hasek needs to stop that 3rd goal next time if we are to go deep into the playoffs, pure and simple. We tried to sit on one goal lead for 19 1/2 min so the tying goal wasn't totally unexpected, but the GWG.... well that sucked and I don't wanna talk about it. Couldn't agree more. If Erat is whistled, that alone changes everything. The Wings overall team D was sorely lacking tonight.
