FUUFNF 1 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 gah! :puke: it's really not the loss that bothers me, cuz i still like our chances... it's those 3 quick back-to-back goals in two games... lay the blame wherever you want, but that s*** simply shouldn't be happening. :nonono:
Nero 20 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Ok, I'm getting a little frustrated reading replies like "IT WAS JUST ONE LOSS". Look at the loss. Why did we lose? We gave up 2 goals in under 11 seconds. There is a pattern. We nearly lost Game 2 for the same reason. Every time Nashville has scored (except for Game #1), they have followed up again in under 3 minutes. There is a problem here. Everyone has a reason to be worried.
Matt 1,049 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Though I didn't figure it would need to be said: They'll be fine come Wednesday. No lack of confidence in this team here. Things that may have thought to have been a fluke in Game 2 (quick goals) were shown not to be tonight. It'll get fixed.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Can we stop turning the puck over at our own blue line? Also, Rafalski, I love ya, but get with it. The only plays I'm noticing out of you are bad ones. Stuart, what the hell were you doing? Sammy, make a play, just once. Hasek, get it back, and make everyone forgive. Sorry I cursed your name. LGW, we need 700 posts for a Game 4 victory. Hell there might be 700 posts in this GDT. i ripped my sweat pants after the game. i'm like the incredible hulk. Good thing you were wearing pants, or imagine what you would have done to yourself then.

So if 2 games makes a pattern that is destined to continue, we probably should have ended up sweeping them, no? We're going to be fine. You really think Nashville is going to take 3 out of 4 from this team? I sure don't. Wings in 5. They should've known better than to think about losing a game. Everyone has a reason to be worried. it might have actually taken a loss to wake the wings up.. Make the argument that they gave up quick ones in game 2, but at the end of the day, they did win. Maybe the Wings needed this loss to show that they cant be doing what they be doing. and at any rate, I think this has been a concern of the wings for as long as I have been a member of this forum, yet they still manage to do well in the end. just sayin. oh yea, and it is just a loss, one game. If they players think of it like some of you guys are, THEN i dont like the Wings chances, but professionals will put this s*** behind them, thats why they are professionals and we arent. nothing like armchair coaching i tell ya
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Hey, there's an upside to losing this game. At least all those Nashville goals meant we got to hear more of the Tim McGraw song! Ba-dum CRASH Thank you! Thank you! We'll be here all week. Try the veal, and don't forget to tip the waitstaff!

awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 I'd be shocked, SHOCKED, if there are lineup changes for Game 4. Detroit was a shade under four minutes from taking a 3-0 lead in this series. It isn't broken, there's no need to fix it at this point. What they need to fix is MENTAL, not in personnel. Oh, and the power play needs to get a dagger to twist. Matt, I don't like to disagree with the Big Cahuna around here, but... yes, we were a few minutes away from winning, but, we did not win.... On the other hand, we DID win games 1 and 2, and that was with a different lineup than game 3. Furthermore, (and I posted this numerous times throughout the game) I really felt like Dats and Z were, for the most part, neutralized in this game. We didn't seem to have nearly as many quality scoring chances this game than in hte first two. I realize that Dats was trying to create matchup problems, but tonite, I don't really think that we caused that much of a porblem for them. The biggest problem that Nashville is ever gonna have is when Dats and Z get into a groove and dominate 90% of their shifts together (like in games 1 and 2). We've been getting secondary scoring these playoffs, and with the way that Franz, Drapes, etc. have been playing, that should not change. D-Z-H! D-Z-H! puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Oh for the love of Parise! The guy gives up 34 in 18 games in the postseason last year, but it's all his damn fault because we didn't come to play Game 6 against Anaheim until it was too late. Maybe if the team could've put more than 1 in the fricken net the game before we wouldn't have been in that situation. He gives up 4 tonight, one of which was bad, and he's sunk. Give me a ****ing break. Play some defense, make good line changes, don't leave to make a big hit for no reason, don't change lines 3 seconds after a faceoff when we're turning the puck over, make some effort to break up a 2 on 1....but no, it's all Dom. This board is amazing. nice try, Pack. They will be fine, including and especially Dom. Players on the other end of the ice need to finish all those "so close" and "oooh, almost" chances. As sick as people are of Dom being such a loser I am more tired of watching pucks miss the net and hit the posts and beat the other goalie's chest protector to smithereens. No more 1 goal leads. I can't stand it. I knew when they got the third goal and then laid back with literally 17 minutes to go, we were going to lose.

rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Complete failure from the coaches right back to Hasek. After the 2 goal lead, it's like Detroit were hoping that Nashville would roll over. (they didn't) We'll see what these lazy bastards are made of on Wednesday (they'll win)
jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Wouldn't be the playoffs without adversity, let's see how Game 4 goes. Team needs to mentally get with it, they were so sore about losing last year, serve it as a constant reminder.

SetecX 139 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 Heres an interesting one to chew on. They just said on VS. that was the fastest in playoffs history a team went from trailing to winning in the 3rd period. 10 seconds.

This team has blown a couple of 2 goal leads the last few games. They're starting to remind me of the Sharks with how inept they are at keeping leads. The funny thing is that the annoucers on Versus were ranting the whole 3rd period about how suffocating our defense is. Amazing how soft goaltending can make the defense look silly, since they played pretty well in the 3rd.
dawings 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 4 Things: The officials really lost their balls in the 3rd when Rafalski (?) was brought down and there was no call. Stuart has got to improve his positioning; the 2nd Nashville goal was 100% his fault Hasek needs to stop that 3rd goal next time if we are to go deep into the playoffs, pure and simple. We tried to sit on one goal lead for 19 1/2 min so the tying goal wasn't totally unexpected, but the GWG.... well that sucked and I don't wanna talk about it. Tsk...tsk. But at least you didn't ONLY blame the refs. You're safe....for now.
