Totally disagree. For one thing, Yzerman was never the kind to get into peoples faces, he was a smiliar type of guy to Nick. I am sure both Nick and Yzerman have (and had) tremendous leadership in the locker room, where it counts. I am not sure what you expect from the Captain on the ice. Veterans don't need a 'C' to voice their leadership. Lids has done an excellent job this year and there's no reason to take it away from him. Opie 308 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 There are pricelessly 3 players on this team that look amped up, ready to go, not nervous, not scared on this team so far, LIDS, DATS, MULE!!! Lids has been Lids all playoffs, one of the best d-men in the league, he leads by example. Babs should be the one yelling and screaming. To me I would rather have a composed leader on the ice who is always under control emotionally and mentally than a guy yelling and screaming at everyone on the bench. Dats is hitting, getting into the scrums (Notice I did not say fighting) scoring, setting up others. Mule is playing his game, just tuned up a notch, that stretch just before the end of the season really got him ready. Now Z is playing great defensively, however he looked a little off in the Offensive end. The reason for listing about the other players, they are the only ones pulling their wait, Lids is doing exactly what he should. VIVA EL CAPITAIN!!!!!!!!!! Too many doobs being smoked during a red wings game=s***ty after game posts. This is by far the most insane topic I have ever read. The Redwings are tied 2-2 not because of Lidstrom, but because of the fact that Hasek has his head up his ass and cant stop a beach ball right now. Bring Osgood in, and come game 5 wear them down. Same s*** happebed last year against Calgary. Split home and home came back to the joe won, went back to calgary and Franzen won the series in ot. Just relax, its not over till Nashville wins 4. datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 i don't even know what to say about this thread. i guess i agree with the poster who said it's babs that should be getting in people's faces and nick should be exactly who he is, a voice of calm and levelheadedness and veteran experience. i think lids makes a great captain. i think the transition took a while, but he's really embodied the role. it's tough, though, because inevitably he's compared to a guy who was one of the best respected captains in professional sports, EVER. those are some huge f-ing shoes, er, skates to fill. nicks doing fine. babs i'm not sure about. he is such a lamb in interviews it scares me. i don't know how much he has to do with the team's lack of urgency, but he needs to drop the hammer. :judge: see does anybody have any insight in to how babcock is in the locker room? because behind the bench and in the pressers he's a real swell chap.
