TimeBinder 28 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 Wings needs this one bad. Ozzie will provide a new spark. For god's sake sit that useless "logo hunter" *usseyson - and even the announcers said "that shot went a mile wide" thank you happy gilmore. No logo in net he misses badly - empty net arghh!! Why is he still at our blueline when the play was in their's - mult times. The rest of the Swedes should step up and take him out for making the country look bad-a nice lock in towel party like in Full Metal Jacket!! Freakin Sammypyle : YOU ARE A JELLY DOUNUT! wings win - see 'em scoring a bunch and yes - GO OZZIE!
Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 Wings really need to build momentum in this game so that they can go back to nashville and get a win in game 6 as well. really dont want to see this go to game seven even though i think we would win it anyways. But anyways, we need to dominate and get something going. It needs to be like 5-1 or 6-1 and completely embarass trashville tonight. Ellis needs to be pulled within the first 2 periods to knock his confindence as well. Id love to see a blow out tonight for the wings...
96warrior 11 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 http://info.detnews.com/redesign/blogs/win...FTOKEN=62252451 Posted by Ted Kulfan on Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 11:35 AM Helm replaces Hartigan There is another line up change in store for the Red Wings other than goaltending. This one won't generate headlines like Chris Osgood replacing Dominik Hasek. But Darren Helm will take Mark Hartigan's place on the fourth line. Coach Mike Babcock said Helm's speed is a key component behind the switch. This will be Helm's first NHL playoff game, but Babcock said Helm's experience playing in the Memorial Cup (junior championships) and his performance in Grand Rapids during the season should aid Helm Friday in Game 5. This actually makes me really happy. I really liked what I saw from this kid from what I saw this season. I just like the fact that he has some sort of outstanding quality that could prove helpful to the team unlike Hartigan who was woefully mediocre. I think that a Mac-Helm-Drake line (Drake has been playing lights out so far) could provide a nice and necessary spark in front of the home crowd. On a grander scale, I've got a real good feeling about this game. We're gonna find out a lot about the character of this team tonite. I think that Ozzy's stable presence between the pipes has a way of stabilizing the team into playing better in front of him, and I'm quite confident that we'll come out with a decisive victory tonite with enough momentum left over to carry into Game 6. GO HELM! GO OZZY! GO (REST OF TEAM)! GO WINGS!

tweekvp 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 I may be the only one who thinks this but I hope having Ozzie out there helps calm the team down. Detroit has to play smart, complete their passes and not panic. If they are chasing the puck they will likely lose. If individuals are trying to accomplish everything on their own they will likely lose. When the Wings control the puck and play a smart game utilizing their skill they win. I'm feeling a calm, skilled, smart game tonight.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 The worst thing that could possibly happen tonight is that Nashville scores early in the game, like 2-5 minutes into the game. I think the wings will be a little tight to start with, having the Home Crowd there and the fact that the pressure is on. If the wings can get a goal and get the lead, I think they'll loosen up. I'm still going to stay with 4-1 wings tonight. I think Ozzie will be very close to a shutout, with a garbage goal that Nashville will score.

I'm feeling a calm, skilled, smart game tonight. I am totally with you on the calmness associated with Ozzie in net. I just read an article about him, and Ozzie saying that with all his experience comes that idea of never feeling a sense of panic. The team will sense that calmness, as well as feel the intensity coming from a goalie starting his first playoff game of the series. The interesting thing with this goalie situation is that I have always been a Hasek over Ozzie fan--so for me to say that I have the confidence in Ozzie is saying a lot. Lets Go Ozzie, Lets Go Wings!
