Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Times like this make me wish I was some super rich company CEO. You know for a fact if someone like Bud Light or whatever threatened to pull marketing for this it would go away. What hypocrits, using the octupus to pimp Vs hockey games but limiting a tradition. Cern 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 My question: what stops the Illichs', players, management, wings fans from paying the fine repeatedly? Either they're unwilling to pay that much for EVERY time it happens (I imagine they'll increase the fine price after repeated occurances), or they simply don't find it to be that big of a deal. EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I made a few changes to wikipedia, an update. Check out the section about twirling.... Did my part, time to do more. Exactly why no one should ever use Wikipedia as a reliable source...
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 My question: what stops the Illichs', players, management, wings fans from paying the fine repeatedly? There is precidence in other sports to greatly esclate the fines, especally when they are proven to be paid by someone other then who the fine is place upon. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Exactly why no one should ever use Wikipedia as a reliable source... What exactly is unreliable, I cited a free press online article. That is a reliable source. Check the citations man.

EuroTwinLove40 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 What exactly is unreliable, I cited a free press online article. That is a reliable source. Check the citations man. Wikipedia is not a scholarly source. Anyone can change anything on there, which makes it unreliable. If you tried to use Wikipedia as a source on a college paper your professor would probably shoot you. It doesn't matter, I just think it's funny when people think "well it's on Wikipedia so it must be true!" One time in one of my classes a student tried to pull up a Wikipedia article about the great barrier reef and it came up as "the *** barrier reef" because someone had changed it. My prof then proceeded to tell him why Wikipedia was the suckiest thing in the world....it was pretty funny. But anyway, I don't know if this petition will do much, but I sure hope it does. Someone should send it to FSN when we get a ton of signatures! Anything to get the word out...
dawings 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) strap it to an octopus and throw it on the ice That is just too damn funny!!! Good one! I'M IN!!!! #71 Edited April 19, 2008 by dawings
dawings 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) You wanna target this issue properly, do it at the Joe itself. Swing the octopus over your own head before throwing it onto the ice. Get a plush octopus and swing it over your head during the game. Add a fake 10 000$ cheque to Bettman tied to the octopus when you throw it. If one guy isn't allowed to follow tradition, have several thousand take his place. Good answer! When an octipi gets thrown on the ice it would be awesome to see currency follow! dawings 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 S I would encourage all who leave comments to leave ones that will reflect well on the Wings and show that we are a solid group of fans, and not sound like immature teenagers. Very, very good point. I was cringing at some of the immaturity on there.
dawings 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Just wondering, but is there any way to edit the grammar mistakes? It doesn't really matter, but it just might make it sound a little more credible, ya know? Yep...I was cringing at that one as well. Hope it can be fixed. Well.. don't pay the fine directly... lend the person the money (lend Al $10 000). Really, what can they say to that? You're not allowed to give something you worked for away? Hell no, we can do whatever the hell we want. I'm referring to somebody who is loaded, like Illitch. I honestly doubt that this problem is going to last long though. Bettman is stupid but I don't think he is this stupid. Edited April 19, 2008 by cirov19
