OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 We won because with 42seconds left for the First time in 3 games... we didn't allow a second goal... There is a reason why Ozzie was a star in his game he played
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Am I missing something? Didn't we win the last game which means that Ozzie should clearly be the goalie? The real question is when is Lilja coming back to replace that speedskater guy who plays on defense?

Outsider 42 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Osgood won game 5 with a decent effort in front of him. Hasek would have, too. Don't kid yourself..... Hasek WOULD HAVE gotten a better effort in front of him if he hadn't been letting in every other shot he faced, including consecutive shots, roughly 10 - 30 seconds apart. Hard to concentrate on Offense when every shot on net goes IN your net. The Wings, as a Team, looked fine until Dom's Two-for-One Special began.

Hard to concentrate on Offense when every shot on net goes IN your net. The Wings, as a Team, looked fine until Dom's Two-for-One Special began. you may want to go back and examine why those goals happened aside from just Dom's play. If Hasek's lost confidence, there is a reason (or several of them). Poor Wings, they were so distressed over Hasek's failure, they were unable to figure out that they needed to tighten the defense and clear the crease.... kind of like they did in Game 5? Poor babies..... wah. The team will play for Ozzie. That's a fact, if you base it on one game, the last one.... Since the aim is to win, clearly Ozzie should be in goal. The team might still play for Hasek as well, who knows? Just trying to provide a little ballast to counter the masses of fans who've jumped ship on Hasek. He won the first two games without a lot of help, but that's a distant memory now. Like Hasek, I can't do it alone, though. So back to your brand of logic. I will stick with mine: the TEAM wins a game, or loses. Not the goalie. It's just easier to blame one guy than to look at the actual situation.

Copenhagen848 58 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Ozzie will start. Dom may be done for the playoffs. If Ozzie gets on a role I could see Babs sticking with him. As he should. If Ozzie continues to play solid and Babs decides to go back to Dom.....well, I won't even go there, so let's hope that doesn't happen.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Ozzie will start. Like Babs said prior to Game 5 if Ozzie plays well he's going to continue to play.
HenrikRules40 14 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Ozzie will start. Like Babs said prior to Game 5 if Ozzie plays well he's going to continue to play. There's no reason for him not to start. This is game 6 we're talking about here. No effing around. Let's win it and get it over with. Babs is no fool.

rwfan007 18 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Loo... Dom WAS good. His style worked for him in the 90's when he was young and moonlighted as a contortionist in the circus, but he is 43 now and his stlye does not work with an aging, slowing goaltender. games 2,3, and 4 he let in goals in quick succession multiple times. A stanley cup netminder needs to be good. if the defense shuts down, stanley cup goalies stop the shots. Look at what has been our downfall the past 4-5 playoff years. The goalies we faced stood on their heads and stopped shots. We pelted them with 30-40 shots. The defense didn't help those goalies much. Dom gets at MOST 20-25 shots and lets in goals. He needed to steal games and didn't. Ozzie kept us in the games he played in. Our offense couldn't get that insurance goal, so Ozzie had to be really good to keep the lead. I am sorry, Dom just doesn't have it anymore.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Game one was won 3-1, no second goal. Coolio... glad you remember that too... But what does that have to do with my statement? We won because with 42seconds left for the First time in 3 games... we didn't allow a second goal... Three times the s***ty b2b goals happened didn't include game1 and neither did I include it in my statement.... But thanks for pointing that out!!!

I am sorry, Dom just doesn't have it anymore. I understand. I actually respect your opinion, rw, unlike an earlier poster (poser) here who has been telling me for ages that he's a better goalie than Hasek will ever be. What do you do with that? *smiles, nods agreeably, and backs away slowly* I put them on ignore, too. Dom did his best with what he had to work with. If he lacks confidence, I know why, even if most here don't understand it. When the team fails Ozzie, it will be a different tune entirely, but hopefully, they've learned and won't do that to him, too. If anyone doubts that Osgood could never let in goals under the same circumstances that Dom faced... I won't remind you of similar games where he did, in the regular season. It's really not necessary to make new threads to make sure everyone is aware that Ozzie is king of the world (goal crease, anyway). WE. GET. IT. ALREADY. Done and done. I am not a fairweather fan who dumps a player when he has problems, some of them not of his making. The rest of the Hasek supporters are still here. They just know better than to try and frame an opinion that differs from yours, and the rest of the haters who just showed up for the playoffs. If you want to answer my posts in a respectful, reasonable manner, I will listen. If you act like an jerk, you lose all credibility and I will pay no attention to you. You are no more right than I am, bub.
