Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I will repeat support for the two-seaso system. Maybe over the summer we use EHM/NHL 08 and then use the actual 08-09 stats for the second season. I'm in total agreement with RedFX on this one. Summer/early fall season is emulated in a simulator, sorta a fantasy season style. Season 2 closely follows both the real season and the playoffs. Datsyukian Geek 2 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet, but I'll bite Position: Agent Superstars: Alex Kovalev, Henrik Lundqvist, Jarome Iginla Mid-Level: Brian Rolston, Devin Setoguchi, Marc-Andre Fleury, Dan Ellis Journeyman/Entry: Mark Recchi, Mike Peca, Miro Satan, Jonathon Ericsson, Erik Johnson Any problems with picks, let me know, I'm still in the dark about a lot of this... EDIT: Patched up a bit. Edited April 29, 2008 by Datsyukian Geek
Real1 2 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Tell me if this sounds like a bad idea, but I think that we (or I will) creat another thread just for advertising yourself. You can say that you need and assistant there so people dont have to weed throught multiple pages of post just to find that one post that they need. Just an idea...... Dano33 41 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet, but I'll bite Position: Agent Superstars: Rick Nash, Henrik Lundqvist, Jarome Iginla Mid-Level: Scott Gomez, Devin Setoguchi, Marc-Andre Fleury, Alex Kovalev Journeyman/Entry: Brian Rafalski, Mark Recchi, Mike Peca, Brian Rolston, Miro Satan Any problems with picks, let me know, I'm still in the dark about a lot of this... Let me say right off the bat, that it doesn't really matter to me what players you have. On that note i think you have undervalued some players. Scott Gomez: The guy was near the top of everyones free agent list and hes making 10 million. He is a superstar. Alex Kovalev: 84 points in 82 games. Montreals best player. Superstar. Rafalski: Had his best season yet. He is not a journeyman considering his productivity isn't decreasing. Rolston: Still putting up 30 goal seasons. Hes Mid-level. Once again. I really don't have a problem with who you have, because at this point with so few agents it isn't a big deal. So when we more than likely add more players because there is a lack of agents i would suggest getting some young guys.
RedFX 48 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet, but I'll bite Position: Agent Superstars: Rick Nash, Henrik Lundqvist, Jarome Iginla Mid-Level: Scott Gomez, Devin Setoguchi, Marc-Andre Fleury, Alex Kovalev Journeyman/Entry: Brian Rafalski, Mark Recchi, Mike Peca, Brian Rolston, Miro Satan Any problems with picks, let me know, I'm still in the dark about a lot of this... Journeymen are more like Dallas Drake or Darren McCarty. Someone like Roenick or Nolan might be considered one as well. Someone who is in the last couple years of their career and tends to get the 1-year deals. Alot of those journeymen would fall under mid-level, Recchi would probably be an exception. If it looks like it would be an unfair advantage, you'd have to change it. That's up to the other agents and the other advisors.
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) I really like RedFXs idea of making the first season a simulator and the second season based on real stats, that could be fun. Also, if anyone wants to be the Assistant GM for Montreal: ~Budding young team ~Prime Location, in close proximity to schools, supermarkets, and recreation ~You can't go wrong! (~Downside: The French) Drop me a message if interested Edited April 29, 2008 by awingsincebirth

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) A couple things: Digitaljohn88, Datsyukian Geek edited his picks 6 minutes before you, so Dan Ellis is taken. I see you´ve got a goalie theme going, so maybe RFA Kari Lehtonen might be a good option. Hes on the list of players in desperate need of agents, as they have contracts upcoming that need to be renewed. You do NOT need an Assistant GM. It is simply a matter of PREFERENCE. If you want to go it alone, feel free to. I think the consensus is that we will do TWO seasons, but I still want to have a few more agents before we start the game. Also, it seems people like the idea of doing the first season by using NHL08, and the second season being determined by a point system that would mirror the NHL. I personally like this idea, as it would give us something to do over the summer, and in the 2nd season, it would allow us to have a more realistic outcome, but using actual player performances as indicators rather than a simulator. HOWEVER, Im going to need a group of people who are willing to play out the games on NHL 08. Which leads me to another question. Would you guys like to play the simulation season in the NHL off-season and then start our season up when the actual NHL starts theres in October? Think about it and post your opinions so we can get this thing on the road. Once we decide what to do, I will post the finalized rules, dates, etc. in a new thread which will only be used to post standings, trades, and free agent signings.
