hardcoretom21 71 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 I'm sorry if this thread isn't in the right place, but I must say, the Avs fans that were (and still are) on these boards were among the classiest we've seen in a while (think of Ducks, Preds, Sharks and ugh, Flames fans) I'm not saying the other fans are all jerks, but you get my point. I was also on the Avs board lurking, and they even had a thread thanking the Avs and CONGRATULATING the Wings on their series win. I gotta say I've never seen this here! And most of them have taken the loss pretty well (well according to what I read)... 2 years ago I saw people writing that they were crying and really upset all around on these boards. They deserve better than such bandwagonry. I noticed the same thing at game 4 and was very disappointed to see a lot of fans leaving! Oh well, there's always gotta be some crappy fans for every team right? When it was 4-1 I knew it was pretty hopeless but I wasn't about to give up on them no matter how bad it looked. I can definitely say that it seemed like the game lasted forever! It was really tough to watch my guys lose! And get swept nonetheless! I cheered for them until the bitter end and applauded them as the thanked the crowd for their support. As my husband and I walked out of the Pepsi Center he had a lot of avs fans say "good luck in the 3rd round" or they would simply nod their head and smile (he was wearing his Lidstrom jersey). I have to give it up to the wings, they are just looking so strong this year and we simply couldn't match them this year. They pretty much outplayed us in every category. I disagree. Every single post there was about how Detroit paid off the refs, how the NHL wanted Detroit to win, how dirty Kronwall/Zetterberg are, how much the refs hate the avs, and how over-rated the Wings are. In addition to that, the mods were like dictators. They did something so that if someone typed in the word "Octopus," it would appear as "Detroit sucks." They would also suspend anyone that had anyone that dared to debate the almighty mods. This site is so much better, yet another aspect of life that Detroit fans are superior. I think that you would always hear this to some extent from the fans of the trailing team... however, I think that you'll find after talking to a majority of avs fans you will find that we think you guys won fair and square. But, of course there's always the exceptions. Sometimes the mods do act like dictators on the avs boards, but I never recall seeing some of these things you're talking about (which doesn't necessarily mean it's not true) I just didn't see it. But its just IRL that people really shiiiine, im really sick and tired of hearing how great Toronto is.. wtf. It's awesome how much they have to bash other teams because of their own teams failure.
