Actually we have 5 Swedes(6 including Brunnstrom) and three Finns now.

The only one I can think of that's popular is Norstrom, and even he's just a defensive defenseman who's lost a step. Meanwhile, most of our star players are Swedes. Oh well, for all we know this kid is another bust like Grigorenko was.

I can't remember who on Dallas broke Kronwall's sacrum last year. Am I correct to assume it was Lundqvist?

That being said, I highly doubt Kronner holds a grudge. It was a good clean hit with an unfortunate result for the Wings. Just an unlucky result.

Uh, Grigorenko was absolutely a bust. The reasons why he was a bust may partially excuse it, but it doesn't mean he's not a bust.

There's a difference between Grigorenko and Fischer. Fischer has heart problems. Grigorenko is no longer injured. He's lazy.

The accident part is comparable but thats about it. Jiri worked hard and did everything he could to play in the NHL, where as Grigs decided to eat cheeseburgers and demand playing time. Not really an apples to apples comparison.

General manager Ken Holland has been informed by unrestricted free agent Fabian Brunnstrom that he has not selected the Wings.

The Wings wooed Brunnstrom last week as he toured also Dallas and Montreal, his three finalists.

“I got a letter from Brunnstrom,” Holland just told me. “He said it was a hard decision to make, he just ultimately made a decision to go in another direction. I don’t really know anything more.”

Brunnstrom opted, in the end, to go with Dallas

So the "near death" is what made him rival Langer for Cheeseburger consumption! Oddly Fischer is in MUCH BETTER shape than grigs was... and Grigs was trying to break into the NHL!

The dude sucked ass in his time here... and with all the talking for god knows how long about how conditioned this kid was and yadda yadda yadda... YES, Grigs was a complete and utter failure..aka a bust

I had a feeling we would not be getting him. Especially after his comments about the city of Detroit -- let's face it, Novi (Little Sweden) is not exactly a hot draw for a young man making lots of money (as opposed to Dallas)... now if he were married with three kids, he's ours!

This Finn we have a chance with intrigues me though.
