This Is Bida 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I wouldn't mind if Downie Downied Crosby tonight. Whats with everyone hating Crosby so much? Not saying I love the guy or anything. Hell, he's a great player (and at such a younge age) but its not like I am any type of fan of his. But do I hate him? No. So many people just cannot stand to even watch the guy play
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I don't hate Crosby. I actually like watching him play. I just hate all the extra pomp/hype he gets (even if it IS deserved, which I wouldn't disagree with, it takes the focus off of too many other good players that don't get as much.. like, say, Datsyuk). Doggy 130 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I don't hate the Pistons, I just find basketball horribly boring. That's a bit harsh. The last minute of a close game is usually good to watch. Even though it goes for twenty minutes because of all the timeouts. But I can see why people would find it boring. I generally prefer not to watch it unless there's a good reason but I'll always support Detroit teams. Even the Tigers.

You either hate him or you detest him." I'm just not one of the people who cares about beating a full, healthy team. I'd be happy to win the cup even if it was against the Spanish women's junior team.

tazzer82 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I really hate both the Flyers and Pens. Pittsburgh because my ex thinks they will roll over the Wings, and I'm sick of hearing about the Flyers. So I kinda wanted the Flyers to win, just so my ex would be pissed off, and so we don't have anymore of Crosby shoved down our throats, but doesn't look like it will happen that way. She honestly thinks that the Penguins will have no problems with the Wings, seeing how they have Crosby and Malkin. We shall see though. Hopefully Kronner nails him coming across the blueline. Kronwallian hit I want to see.

Oh, I have two reasons for disliking basketball. One is that goals happen so often in it there's nothing special about scoring whatsoever (except in the last minutes.. which in that case they could just play a 5 minute game and whoever scores most in that amount of time wins). The other part is more personal. Down here in NW Florida, in our god-awful school systems, whenever they didn't have anything better for you to do, especially in phys ed. classes, basketball was the only thing they'd let you do, ever. 13 or so grades of that got reeeeeally boring, especially considering I was/am a fan of other sports (hockey, of which there is none within 100 miles, soccer, which I played). Oh. Empty netter. And Pens win. No surprise there.
IceMunkee 15 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I am disappointed with the game. Mostly because I want to see that the Pens have chinks in thier armor. I am not afraid of Pens but I think they will be the best team by a long shot we face in the playoff's.

Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I wouldn't call it an awful game, but I'd certainly call it very 1-sided. I'd call it awful if both teams were tripping all over themselves. Only one team was doing that.

10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 f***in Flyers blow. Every game Philly wins gives Franzen two extra days to get back in the lineup. Yet they cant even pull one out.

Only one team was doing that. My prediction after the 2nd round... We face the Pens in the Finals. Both teams sweep the conference. We take them out in 4 MAYBE 5. I'd either love to sweep the Pens (after we sweep Dallas and they sweep Philly) or it goes 7 games and obviously... we win!

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Anybody notice how that versus commercial which shows the lawn car talking about getting knocked out of the playoffs and there being "No more hockey," "No more screaming fans" and the like, initially shows a green and black colored band of the chair (Dallas' colors,) then expands to show yellow and black (close enough to Pitt,) as well as orange and black (Philly)? Never shows anything red and white, unless of course I missed it.
Nero 20 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Hossa is looking like the best, most expensive trade deadline deal of all time. It's funny because he won't be back in Pittsburgh next season. They can't afford it and don't plan on having him back.

cs6687 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Pens fan here. Wings fans, do not underestimate this Pens team. They can play run-and-gun, tight defense, however you want to play. With the gamebreakers the Penguins have, they don't need many chances to score. The defense and Fleury are overlooked by everyone. You have every reason to be confident right now, but the Penguins are more than capable of knocking off the Wings in a seven-game series.

I don't underestimate them, I think they have a great team and are underrated in certain areas, they are really maturing as a team. However, I think the Wings are a better team, which is at its best right now and on top of all that, I think their experience will be too much for the Pens. I'm not an idiot either, the Pens have a chance at winning, but if I'm betting on the winner, I'm picking the Wings.

You have every reason to be confident right now, but the Penguins are more than capable of knocking off the Wings in a seven-game series. Same thing can be said for you and your fellow Pens fans. Alot of them on hfboards are thinking they will knock the Wings off easily, and that simply is not the case. Yes, Pittsburgh is where they are for a reason, but so are the Wings. As the Versus commercial says: "I am the top seed, and proving it". Could the Pens win against the Wings? Sure. But the Pens will have their hands full with Hank and Datsyuk, not to mention the rest of the lineup. The key will be how the young Penguins team handles the pressure of playing the best team in the league, and if they have an answer for the top line. How's Fleury gonna like Homer and Mule parked in his crease for most of the game? From what I've seen, he gets flustered at times with traffic infront of him, and that will most certainly cost a few PP chances.
cs6687 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 Trust me, Pens are in no way disrespecting the Red Wings. Some, in fact, think the Wings will win (objectively speaking, of course.) Datsyuk and Zetterberg are scary, Franzen is damn good too. The Wings would be the best team the Penguins will have faced, and vice versa. I have nothing but respect for the Red Wings, and by no means do I think the Penguins would walk through them. I haven't been on this board for 24 hours yet, but it seems to me that some on here think the Penguins will just be brushed aside easily.
