betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 Throwing an octopus at a hockey game in Philly is a vast improvement over throwing garbage at the football games.
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted May 16, 2008 A Philly fan would have thrown a dead, bloody and beaten Santa Claus on the ice.
redwingsgirl 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 I saw that too - and then VS says "Octopus on the ice - a long time Stanley Cup Tradition" and I had to scream at them that is not just "A Stanley Cup tradition" is a "RED WINGS Stanley Cup tradition" Expect to see a few tomorrow :octo: :octo: :octo:
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 But did they twirl it? That is the question. LOL, no, linesman grabbed it with a towel and the guy carried off like a pansy; he didn't want to get an Octopus juice on him
bellarina 1 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 why an octopus in Philly? it was a Wings fan who threw it on the ice, just to send notice to both teams. Not only that, it was a wings fan who lives in philly and probably won't be able to do it in the finals because Philly won't be there. I tell ya, if I had the chance to throw one here in Montreal or just down the road in Ottawa I would do it in a heartbeat and it wouldn't be to start a new tradition in these cities it would be to remind them who they will face at the end of the road. I was actually happy to see the octopus thrown in Philly. The reason the joe is slightly empty is because of the millions and millions of Red Wing fans everywhere

Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted May 16, 2008 LOL, no, linesman grabbed it with a towel and the guy carried off like a pansy; he didn't want to get an Octopus juice on him Well why would he? Wise Bettman already established that octopus matter is very very dangerous.

vangvace 12 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 For an instance let's make believe a Flyers fan is trying to rip off our tradition, does this give us the leeway to act like Philly? We could start chants of "A-hole," "BS," and "F@#* 'random players name,'" as well as flick off opposing players through the glass and blow an opposing player's complaint out of proportion and try to label them the "Whiniest *****" in the history of the NHL ala Crosby. Ah, the good old days before the Wings were "cool" again...
