Oh man, TSN sure changed that link to Franzen cleared to play in game 2, great reporting TSN (little bit of sarcasm) I've been excited for the return of the Mule and you worried me, none the less FEED THE MULE and GO WINGS!

This is just Babcock playing the game to keep the Pens guessing! The link now says that the whole team has been replaced by the Griffins!! Go Griffs!!

Ok, so it doesn't. Go Mule!!

Glad he has the go! I look forward to seeing him get his game back!

Go Wings!!

Hopefully Franzen can get right back into the mix and we're not going to see a repeat of his struggles when he had a blazing preseason only to be saddled with the MCL strain that untracked the first half of his season.

I'm not expecting that at all, but it doesn't seem realistic to think he'll mantain his goal-per-game pace since he's been sidelined for two weeks.

The biggest boost here is that he's another guy that plays in ALL situations -- so a monstrous boost to the special teams units tonight.

Actually, there is a question. The Pens are putting Roberts in I heard, and that can only mean they want to gun for one of our guys. So McCarty needs to stay.

Huh? They're putting Roberts in there because he's a veteran presence and Laraque, against this Red Wings team, is a glorified pylon and a waste of spot in the lineup. He played all of 4:43 in Game 1.

If the Penguins are going to match up fourth lines with the Red Wings I'm loving having three forwards that can skate -- especially a burner like Helm -- on that fourth line.

I agree. I'm not expecting Mule to continue his scoring pace. The best thing is to have another big body infront of Fleury.

True dat. All Laraque did was get in MAC's face at the start of the game. Hey Big George...how'd that work out for ya??

Red Wings Corner also reporting that Mule will play tonight:

Forward Johan Franzen has been cleared to play tonight and will be in the Detroit lineup. Coach Mike Babcock said otherwise at his morning press conference, but found out shortly after that the Mule will be available to him. The Red Wings just sent out a press release (12:17 p.m.) confirming that Franzen will play tonight.

A side note ... The Penguins' hotel had a fire alarm at 1:30 a.m. last night. Home-ice advantage to the max.

Oops, eh? That has a funny way of happening to visiting teams in Detroit during the playoffs.

:zzz: -->*alarm*--> :crazy: --> :wacko:

Someone should really look into that.

Go Mule! Go Wings! :sly:
