Nev 1,085 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I always liked the idea of the Captain handing it to the Assistants - Scott Stevens was the first guy I remember doing that. Then give it to Drake.

SoDakWing 8 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 skates over to Crosby.. and taunts him with it. lmao... I think he hand it to ozzie no doubts. Although it would be really super cool to see it handed to Drake considering this is his first cup finals and prolly last. Sir Drake FTW

Nightfall 871 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 If anyone remembers 2002, Yzerman handed the cup first to the players who had never won it before. My bet is Zets or Drake first.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Do you guys think Hudler will be strong enough to lift the Cup by himself?

awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I don't think we'll have to worry about it, TBH. Here is how it is gonna go down. Whether or not the Wings win the Cup, Bettman will call up Crobsy, kiss him gently and tenderly on the cheek (both of them with tear-filled eyes), and then he will let Crobsy hold it first. Then, IF WE ARE LUCKY, Crobs will give it to Nick, just because Sid is a generous standup fella. Honestly, we should just feel blest that our team gets to play in the Crobsy Hockey League (***-HL). RedRockit 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Ozzie. No doubt in my mind, the Cup (if and when, I'm superstitious) will be handed off to the man who backstopped us (again) to the Final proving ground.
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Do you guys think Hudler will be strong enough to lift the Cup by himself? according to the commercial, it weighs 35 lbs EXCEPT when your lifting, thus I think Huds might be able to. I honestly think Huds deserves to be one of the first after lids to lift it. The guy went from being scratched in the playoffs last year to scoring what might have been the biggest goal of the playoffs for the Wings last night, all while playing on line 4. GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 I wouldn't be surprised if Crosby came on the ice during the celebration, and begged Bettman to give him the Cup instead, all the while calling him "Dad".
omnipotent_hudler 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) If Detroit wins Steve Yzerman should assassinate Bettman when he goes to present the cup, and then announce than he has taken over as commish and present the cup to Lidstrom. jvxp 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 Well who do you think it will be? In 97 Steve handed it to Ilitch, in 98 the cup was given to konstantinov, and in 02 it was given to bowman. Each year the handing of the cup has meant something special, so what about this year? Will it be.... Holland? He has done alot for this orginization. Babs? He's been an amazing coach for us. Steve? Ginen to him as a thanks for all he's done Iitich again? The MVP Ozzie? For steping us him game for us when we needed it the most. Or someone else. What do you guys think? Ozzie
