CapnSmitty 39 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 The only real problem I had with the Wings performance tonight was the HIGHLY uncharacteristic give aways that the boys seemed to be giving up.... I dont like the fact that a couple blantant things got missed, i.e. Lids getting bloodied by Staal.... But over all I loved the pressure and Domination we had after the 3rd goal, we controlled the play, and damn if homer doesnt ring it off the post..... Overall I want Saturday here quicker! Lets go Boys, Win it Saturday and clinch at home!
puckbags 863 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 We had a tough 1st period tonight, took too many penalties and they stole some of the momentum back. I thought we played very good in the last half of the game and hopefully we can carry it through to Saturday night!! The Pen's have made it a series and they do deserve some credit. seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Not me. I still feel like punching cement until my hand breaks. I guess some people take losses better than others. I'm like you for the most part, but not tonight for some reason. I'm not even remotely happy obviously, but I don't want to slit strangers' throats either. I'm not even remotely happy obviously, but I don't want to slit strangers' throats either. I personally go into these games expecting a loss, with bad officiating, disallowed goals ect ect. No suprise really, not that im blaming the loss entirely on the calls or lack of calls... i.e the 4 minute major high stick that should have been called on staal when he clipped lidstrom. Hell if that was the nhl's poster boy crosby, you can bet your ass everyone in the arena including the refs would have seen that including the 5 cameras that follow crosby around the whole game. Also you can't forget the Crosschecks to the neck and back and interference's on holmstrom which eventually led to him leaving the the game... But the red wings still had lots of chances and pp's and couldnt score. Edited May 29, 2008 by tommingthepuck96

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I'm like you for the most part, but not tonight for some reason. I'm not even remotely happy obviously, but I don't want to slit strangers' throats either. It was a close game, and the Wings are still up by one in the series. The fact that this place isn't swarming with Pens fans is proof enough of how close it was and how screwed the Pens still are. No worries, folks. No worries. k98_man 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 It's not time to panic. We did well in Pitt. and scored some goals. We aren't going to have everything go out way, but we fought until the end of the game and our boys got some good action going. We can take the next one and win it back at home. sdogg1m 3 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Did Kopecky play? Babcock interview: Q. Tomas Kopecky, they took a couple of penalties against him tonight. Seems maybe there was a little more physicality towards him, did you notice that as well? COACH MIKE BABCOCK: I thought Tommy did a good job going to the net. I think they tried to do something each and every game. That front he drew, I think for certain, two penalties. But our power play has to be better. Our second unit was really good on the power play. Generated good chances. Our first unit didn't generate near as much.

Just the same the Wings capitalized on in the first couple of games. Very fun game to watch even though the Wings didn't win but I am hoping the momentum of the 3rd period will carry forward. Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 remember when Ottawa won game 3 at home last year yeah exactly what i was thinking... i think this is going to be a carbon copy of last years SCF you have a "unstoppable" line that is being shut down or close to it.. like when everyone said spezza alfie and heatley would demolish the ducks with offensive power of doom.. and everyone knows what happened with that.. wings in
The Noodle 39 14 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 We played very below average this game and only lost 3-2. What does that tell ya? I have asked before and knowbody responds to my posts have the time lol.. is Chelios injured or a healthy scratch? Why is Lilja playing over him? If you look at the game as a whole we played bad and almost won. If not for a few breaks here or there we would be up 3-0 in the series. Osgood let in two weak goals but was solid besides that. The first goal on him was a turnover and not his fault but it was a weak shot that squeaked five hole on him. And then the third goal you gotta admit brought back memories of Yzerman and Shanny with that bank shot off of the back of wandering and lost Ozzie who was flailing his stick behind the net lol. After being initially upset after that 3rd goal i could actually appreciate it once i cooled down. And boy what a fun game to watch! Back and forth hockey! Was intense. Hopefully we can steal the next game in there arena and take this series!

OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) Pens didn't even play their best tonight.... wait til malkin rests up for two days... wings are gonna get their canes broken and dentures knocked out Well thats a relief... because i was thinking "what if this is as good as it gets" pens looked s***ty for three straight games... just happened to get a win in one of them. But its good you are averaging 1 goal a game in SCF after three games... thats always something promising to rally around! Its okay you can admit it.... Malkin is your Grigs... he is lazy and he sucks © and is out of shape Edited May 29, 2008 by OsGOD

One win and all of the sudden you think you're on top of the world huh? Nashville and Dallas fans thought the same way... wingsgirl001 983 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Okay, don't kill me for saying this, but I actually needed us to lose this game. And I need us to lose one more game too. Now before you ready your torches to flame me, let me explain. I have no TV right now. Why that is is not important. But no TV = No hockey. I'll be getting my TV back next Tuesday. Meaning I'll miss games 4 and 5. And if we win game 5 and hoist the Cup, I won't be able to see it, and that would kill me. So I need us to lose one more game and force a game 6. That's the only way I'll be able to see us win. That said, though, the sooner is still the better, and even though I won't be able to watch, I wish us luck in games 4 and 5! Here's to lifting the Cup, boys!
