Other than the first two minutes when the Wings treated the puck like it was radioactive, that was an excellent period. All the chances were ours. Another period like that will be just the thing. Wings need another gear in the third if they want to win the cup tonight. I want it over tonight soooo bad. Disgusted with the team? Stop watching. I freaking HATE when fans make things out to be much worse than they actually are. They are down by a freaking goal. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 3, 2008 I don't know what people here are so unhappy about. Yeah, there's been some frustrating plays, but it's 100% better than Period #1. And we're only down one goal. Even mediocre teams can come back from a 2-1 deficit. The Wings can do this, people. Score one goal and it's all even. I had a chelios red jersey on to start the playoffs, and took it off after we lost game 4 to Nashville, and haven't worn it since. I put it back on today only to go down 2-0. We need to get traffic in front of the net, and we need to not be afraid to fight back. We're letting ourselves be pushed around too much. When there's a Penguin in the offensive zone, and Sammy keeps his distance while Pavs dives in, puts the body on and gets the puck headed out. Everyone needs to contribute. Wings did a good job of keeping the Pens to the outside when they were attacking, but the Wings need to stop blowing their offensive chances. Theyre nervous as hell out there. I can see it, they were starting to control the puck a bit more. I'm looking for a huge period out of the Wings with a shorter bench from Pitts. Go Wings! One early one to tie it and the GWG toward the end.
