Roberts won't re-sign with Pittsburgh

Okay, something's clearly going on behind the scenes in Pittsburgh if players like Hossa and Roberts are bailing. I'm starting to wonder if those rumors about players hating Therrien weren't true.

On the other hand, Roberts can't be so stupid to think that he's still worth $2.5M a season, can he...?

They're looking to lose a few more players before it's all said and done.

Stupid move by Roberts, though. Will anyone want him?

If we were not so stocked with Depth players, i would jump at the opportunity..

I'd like the wings to stay pat.

This may very-well be a "saving face" type of statement given the current cap problems the Penguins have. Plenty of Penguins need to be let go or shipped out in order to secure their future stars, and Roberts knows d*mn well he's not a part of that.

He may just be throwing this out there so other GM's know he'll be available when July 1st hits, and thus giving him as many opportunities as he can in order to make the best location decision.

Ruutu and Laraque may be out as well.

It will be interesting which ones stay, what luck they have with free agents and if they spend close to the cap, as has been hinted. So glad the Wings do not have to go through this!

WOW, Penguin players are fighting each other to be the first off the ship, Malone, Hossa, Roberts, Malkin?, Orpik.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying they don't have talented players on the team, but they are losing some real talented players.

I could see Roberts going back to the leafs and being captin once Sundin is gone. I'd take him here if Drake goes but I like drake and hopes he stays.

Last one out please turn off the lights.

Another 1 year wonder to go with Tampa, Carolina, Aneheim and Buffalo. Good teams - for 1 year

Roberts is injury prone - no thanks....

Gary Roberts wants to come back, but not to Pittsburgh. He'd undoubtedly sign a one year contract given his age and his injury problems last year. He'd also be the perfect complement to play on a line with Hudler and whoever centered them. Wouldnt have to worry much about Hudler getting pushed around with Roberts out there.

Edit: Oops I see I misspelled Roberts. Hope everyone can figure out that I mean Gary ROBERTS. :hehe:

not after his antics in the finals.

Wouldn't that just further the Dallas Drake comparison? I seem to recall a Mr. Drake getting a suspension for injuring Lebda a year prior to us signing him.

I don't think there are enough tissues to wipe up his tears (everytime he gets a penalty)

if i wanted to see someone hit from behind/high on the wings i would go for the master and just get pronger
