Bertuzzi a Flame

Hmm... Bertuzzi and Iginla could be good together.

But then again, Iginla is the hard working, gritty type of player - traits that Bertuzzi has completely lost in the last 4 years. He will be trying to reproduce Nolans 'return to form'. I predict a clash of personalities, and complete and utter failure by Bertuzzi.

I hope The Flames aren't planning on putting him any higher than 3rd line in the long run O.o

So IIRC, are the Flames responsible for $2.667 million?

I might be wrong but I thought that was only if he was picked up on re-entry waivers, I think because he was bought out and an UFA, it's an entirely new salary, but the Ducks still pay him what they owe him.

$1.95 million - not bad for Bertuzzi.

Calgary owes nothing of his Anaheim salary as he was bought out... though the Ducks will still have to account for 2/3 of it in their cap for this year.

My bad. I was asking the wrong question but just figured it out myself. Since he was set to make $4 million this coming season, ANA is responsible for $1.333 million (1/3 of his contract--which plus $2.667 would equal $4 million).

I know the Ducks still pay, but that has nothing to with Bert's new contract.

Thanks skacore. Brainfart from the long weekend.

Just an FYI: According to NHLnumbers.com 1/3 this year and 1/3 next year.

Thanks. I love it they have to pay for Burke's mistakes.

Despite Bertuzzi not being worth $4 million, he still produced. Anaheim better hope Selanne comes back quick, if at all, or they are going to be hurting even more for scoring than they did last year.

They only have 2.237 mil it will be hard to fit Teemu in under that!

I don't know. 40 points in 68 games is not producing. He is a head case. He has not been nor will ever be the same as he was before the Moore incident. It is funny how GMs all think 'we can fix him'...nope.

He is a good fit with Iginla? But he could not fit in with the talent on either Anaheim or Detroit? Wow. I was curious as to who would take the dive on this one. Good luck Calgary.

I cant see Teemu settling for that or less. Is it just me or is Anaheim in a little trouble with having enough talent now, that their cap is almost filled up, and not enough top personnel?

That's 40 points 3rd to last place in goals scored, Anaheim, is not replacing. Even Weight had 10 goals last year, and Selanne may not be back. How is Anaheim even making the playoffs?

40 points in 68 games is still a top 6 forward for Detroit last year... just not worth anywhere close to $4 million.
